He was in broadcasting for ESPN. It’s said they have a mic waiting for him.

So true. It’s not like we won the Super Bowl with any backups playing. Luckily it’s a noncontact sport. And it doesn’t wear guys down playing all game for 16 games(plus playoffs). No need for guys to ever rotate in. No need to replace any injured starters. Should just cut everybody that isn’t a starter. Seems like the wise move. Screw depth or ST.

Why would we give up Suds? Somebody would have to really blow us away with the price tag. He’s a quality potential backup...that we’ve been developing. Doesn’t make any sense to move on from him. He’s the top guy I would turn to if we need to win a game with Wentz being out.

What planet did this statement come from? Not a developmental league? Really? What’s been going on with Mailata? Sudfeld? Pryor? Sweat? Gerry? Gibson? Obviously I can go on and on for days with guys that have been DEVELOPED here.

Where would you come up with this? Brissett in Indy looks to possibly be the best backup in the league. And we saw Menshaw for Jax look pretty good. On par with Suds arguably at least.

Doesn’t really add up. When Suds got hurt they made no move. In fact Pedey said not worried about it at all. Stood pat. But then Kessler got the concussion and now they forced this move. So McCown didn’t get signed because they didn’t believe in Kessler. They never really believed in Kessler. He wasn’t ever making the team. It was clearly Wentz, Suds and Thorson. Suds got injured. But he only should miss a few games. Nothing major. Non throwing arm break. Pretty cut and dry really. Now it’s all muddled. Gotta keep Suds and McCown. And McCown was probably told he was number two to come out of retirement. But that will not sit well with Suds. Going back to number three probably changed his plans for next season. Time for him to move on. And then now what do you do with Thorson? Expose your draft pick to PS? All for a guy in McCown that is really old and never was any good to begin with. Clustered it all because they knee jerk reacted and couldn’t wait two more days for Kessler to clear concussion.

So Kessler is back at practice today. That makes the Mc signing seem even more forced and rushednow. Especially with Thorson picking up steam.

Whelp there goes the worry about having to carry four TE. Rodgers just wasn’t meant to be...here. I do like Perkins. So I think we are fine. Rodgers was a very good blocker. Perkins resembling more a wideout(in style of play).

What are talking about "no worries about him wanting a starting gig”? He was retired.

So if you aren’t blocking well and you are causing stupid penalties then...you shouldn’t even make the team.

I’m still shaking my head at this McCown signing. We had it setup for Suds and Thorson to be two and three. It seemed likely Suds will be back soon enough. So all we really needed was a camp arm to finish off practicing and preseason. So you waste that money on Mc. Not massive crazy money...but not peanuts either. And then how do you handle the 53 man roster now? It complicates things. It’s a knock to Suds making him number three again. Then what? We going to keep four QBs? Seems crazy. So you expose Thorson to PS. So he can move on anywhere after spending draft capital on him. I don’t even feel Mc is worth it either....so there is that.

That’s where Pryor also struggles...he hasn’t blocked anyone very well.

That would be the difference between my 53 and the 53 you’d expect them to choose. Decent difference most likely. Which are we talking about? Personal choice? Or prediction of team actual choices?

Nice effort TD! You left off Mills. After Scandrick laid down and avoided contact on that (non)attempt of a tackle it’s tough for me to include him. I’m leaning with FL that I think Herbig has a decent shot at making the team. Be nice to stash him on PS if that would fly without him getting poached. I just don’t see keeping Smallwood. He’s just decent at everything. Which was useful last season. But this year we shouldn’t need that. Adams has much more potential. Scott also shows more potential. Not even sure we keep five RB this season. I’m thinking Michel makes the team at WR. Just brings so many great elements. Even with everyone healthy I could see using his skills for a few plays on game day. Pryor is doing nothing for me. I lean Herbig but also think Opeta looks good with potential. About as much nitpicking as I could come with. Figured you deserved that since you put in all the effort to load your 53. We really are thinking mostly the same. Tough calls with Thorson, Edwards and a few others on PS. Kind of feel like Toth gets a PS spot also. Just the way it kind of has setup.

S seems cut and dry. Jenkins, McLeod, Sendejo and Cyprien. Sullivan hasn’t shown up. Hall isn’t going to jump up enough to make it. Countess already got snipped.

LBer room is tough. Alex Singleton has been playing good hard nosed football. Edwards I think can develop quickly. Fort you would think is locked in(other than the comp pick issue). Gerry is up and down. Smart player but not really translating into production. I’m really thinking I’d cut Gerry but that isn’t likely to happen. KGH being out definitely impacts the decision. Bradham trying to come back from injury also does. I’m hoping Edwards can hang on through PS and I keep Singleton. Really showing well on ST which is a must for the backup LB.

I’ve talked about the depth we have at DT. Definitely a hard cut position. I’ve been hoping we find a trade partner for one of our depth players at this position. Ridgeway with the concussion is hard to trade. Hector is more valuable to us than probably known throughout the league. So I’m thinking Hester is the guy to shop.

DE Hall also does every phase of ST. And he’s been playing great. Such a good find. You can really tell he has been focused all offseason. Really pumped himself up to fit in this scheme. Added thirty pounds. Yet he didn’t lose his speed. Seems to me if you can actually earn a spot on the 53 then Hall makes the 53.

I’m liking keeping Perkins. A fourth TE seems a bit much. But we seem to be leaning towards the 12 formation this year heavily. So keeping a fourth TE would work and could be useful. Perkins can also be a backup WR. He is great on ST also which makes it a quality move for a guy that can dress as part of the 45 each week.

I see Sweat has his knee issue going on...out day to day. Is that knee manageable enough to get through a season? Sure hope so but that’s why he fell to where he did in the draft.
