Johnny Manziel kicked out of the CFL

He was commenting on one of the networks, either ESPN or NFL Network. I constantly flip back and forth based on how much I hate the current person talking. In hindsight, I guess it's odd that I would have heard what Gruden had to say since he's annoying as hell. The other network must have had someone even worse. At any rate, yeah, Gruden was doing commentary that night and was ridiculous in his endorsement for Johnny Football.

Johnny Manziel kicked out of the CFL

And yet Jon Gruden spent about the first three hours of that draft constantly pushing for whatever team was on the clock to pick Manziel. It was ridiculous.

I remember when an over-the-hill, washed up Larry Csonka came back to the Dolphins. It didn't go so well. I expect something similar.

Design your own NFL 100th anniversary jersey for any team

That picture makes me sad. At the time, both teams were bad. Real bad. And a few years later, one of the teams was great -- and would be great for many, many years -- while the other team was still bad. And we weren't the team that became great. Sigh. I was at that game, by the way.

Giants fans... Talk about the Giants

I think they maneuvered to pick Landon Collins at the top of the second round a few years ago. But other than that, yeah, they pretty much sit still. The Bengals are like that too.

    Was Super Bowl LIII Fixed?

And the choreography required by both teams on both of those passes to the endzone to Brandin Cooks was amazing. Sure he could have caught either of those passes for touchdowns, but no, it was obviously prearranged. Goff intentionally threw them so that they would arrive at precisely the instant the Patriot defender would get there to challenge the catch. And then Cooks had to make it look like he tried to catch it, knowing of course that he had to drop it, based on the "fix" in place. It must have been staggering, the time it took to work on this in advance. But when the fix is in, I guess that's what you just have to do.

Super Bowl LIII: Rams vs Patriots.

I remember being completely disinterested the year the Bucs played the Raiders. I didn't even know which team to root for, and I think I actually changed my mind the day of the game. And even now, I have no recollection of who I wanted to win that game. I hardly cared.

    Relooking 1991 vs Dallas

I think it was special teams that lost that game. I seem to remember a punt return TD for the Cowboys that won it for them. Not to mention the fact that the Eagles were down to their fifth starting quarterback of the season by the time that game was played.

    Rolling R-word's (Trademark Pending) updates..

I don't think Jerome Brown was a saint either. Kind of a similar situation. Great player who died tragically at their peak. Their devotion to his memory is understandable.

    NFC Championship: Rams @ Saints.

BTW, I just remembered the skank with the "F the Eagles" shirt from the playoff game in 2006. I'm kind of enjoying the thought that she's probably distraught right now. Makes me smile.

    NFC Championship: Rams @ Saints.

As gut wrenching as a loss would be, it's still better to get to a Conference Championship than not.

Where does Nick Foles wind up next season?

My guess is that he had two touchdown passes against the Saints in the playoffs that season, which would account for the 29.

    Seahawks signed Paxton Lynch

This guy gets it. At this point, Paxton Lynch has about as much of a chance to become a good NFL quarterback as Marcus Smith does of becoming a good NFL linebacker. Sometimes first round picks bust. The fact that at one time people thought they might be good doesn't really matter anymore.

Where does Nick Foles wind up next season?

What I find bizarre is that Foles seems to be the most underrated quarterback in the league, as well as the most overrated quarterback in the the same time. And I say this as a fan of his.

Where does Nick Foles wind up next season?

I would also classify the Saints and Patriots as "sneaky" possibilities.

Your team can't win the next Super Bowl ...

That didn't bother me in the least. I loved Vermeil. As someone who grew up watching the team under Kuharich, Williams, Khayat, and McCormack, I knew what it was like to watch a terrible team coached by a terrible coach. Vermeil was a God-send. For the first time in my life, the team wasn't a laughingstock, and for a few years, they were even contenders. Legitimate contenders. Yes, the Vermeil era was glorious. I was in college at the time, and it just felt good to be good for once. Finally. Sure, I was heartbroken when he retired, and I was disappointed fifteen years later when he agreed to coach another team. But I would never wish him anything other than success. So I was happy when he won that year with the Rams. We sucked at the time anyway, so it's not like we were competitors.

    NFC Wildcard: Seattle @ Dallas.

Are you sure about that? I see Dak Prescott in a lot of TV commercials. The only conclusion I can possibly draw from that is that he's a superstar.

    NFC Wildcard: Seattle @ Dallas.

I expect the Cowboys to win, maybe not in a blowout but comfortably.

Kirk Cousins is the next Brees

Can someone kindly explain what the "Coupons" thing is about?

    Friendly Vikes Fan

Vermeil's tenure was far from a debacle. He was actually the first ray of sunshine in about fifteen years.

    Go Titans and Chargers!
  23. Speaking of Arians, I was really disappointed with him the other day when he was broadcasting the Giants-Titans game. He seemed blatantly pro-Giants.

Is it possible for it to be "1st and (Non-Multiple of Five)"?

Pretty sure I've seen first and one somewhere along the line. And I don't mean at the goal line.
  25. Wondering which way it'll go.
