    Andrew Luck decides to retire

Probably is, but I can see two years from now with his body fully healed maybe his mind changes.

    Andrew Luck decides to retire

Yes, but Luck is the kind of superstar where if he expressed he wanted to go elsewhere, after say 2020, the NFL could turn around and "strongly suggest" they do it under the threat of taking away draft picks and cutting their salary cap (or promising to give them additional cap room and a compensatory pick between Rounds 1 & 2) to let Luck do that. Calvin Johnson was never the star on the level Barry Sanders or Andrew Luck were.

    Andrew Luck decides to retire

I suspect the NFL would in that scenario "strongly suggest" to Irsay he allow Luck to go elsewhere if after say 2020 Luck wants to come back, but not to the Colts. The NFL I think privately regrets not doing that when Barry Sanders retired because he no longer wanted to play for the Lions and not "strongly suggesting" to the Lions he be traded elsewhere so he could break records.

Ex NY Jet Mark Gastineau Is Very Ill

Really sad on Gastineau: Growing up in New York, I was a Jets and Giants fan (didn't become an Eagles fan until Cunningham was playing for them in 1986 in his second year and actually went to the 1981 Wild Card game against the Bills that would turn out to be the only time the Jets hosted a playoff game at Shea Stadium post-merger) and I remember how fierce he along with Marty Lyons, Abdul Salaam and Joe Klecko as "The New York Sack Exchange" were back then. The biggest moment for them was probably the December 20, 1981 regular season finale at Shea against the Packers (that also turned out to be Vin Scully's final regular season NFL broadcast) when the Jets ended a combined 30 years of futility for New York's football teams as that win put the Jets in the playoffs for the first time since 1969 AND the Giants into the playoffs for the first time since 1963 (back in the days when the NFL Championship was the only playoff game). Many older Jets and Giants fans remember that weekend because the day before, the Giants beat the Cowboys in Giants Stadium to set up where a Jets win got both teams in (or course, Eagles fans hated it the following Sunday when the Giants beat the Eagles in The Vet in what would turn out to be the last playoff game for the Eagles under D Vermeil). Other NFL players and the NFLPA need to come together on this one, though what about his family? Lisa Gastineau (Mark's first wife) and his daughters I believe have money as well (the Gastineau women were featured a number of years ago in an E! reality series as I remember).
  5. They should have tried to get Kirk Herbstreit to make the move to MNF.

2019 NFL draft in Nashville - who's going?

I believe that will be in Las Vegas. I think doing it in the infield at Churchill Downs in Louisville would be great as while Louisville is not an NFL city, it is within reasonable driving distance of a number of NFL cities and between the infield and the stands at CD you'd be able to easily hold 200,000 for each day of the draft.

Giants fans... Talk about the Giants

This was a big argument by some Tuesday on The Michael Kay Show on 98.7 ESPN in New York while they also went into a whole diatribe on the thought that there were other reasons for taking Daniel Jones at #6.

Giants fans... Talk about the Giants

The belief among some is The Mannings forced this pick on the Maras, who in turn forced Gettleman to take him no matter what, And the Broncos likely take him at 10 given they did move up in Round 2 to take Drew Lock while it's possible if not, the Bengals take Jones at 11.

2019 NFL draft in Nashville - who's going?

I get that, particularly with the bridal planners. The marathon is harder to reschedule because of the elite runners who are planning to run in that event, which is often part of a long-planned schedule for them that has them targeting specific events over the course of a year. That's one reason for instance when Sandy hit NYC the weekend the NYC marathon was to take place in 2012, it could not be rescheduled for a later date because of not only hotel reservations and so forth, for elite runners it could have had a ripple effect where some might have had to miss Boston the following April due to needing to have up to five months between marathons to be at optimal performance, leading to Boston Marathon officials suing New York marathon officials for running their race in say early December to make up for not running it when scheduled due to Sandy (and if you remember in that case, the Philly Marathon had to expand its field by 3,000 in 2012 to accommodate runners going in that event after the NYC event had to be scrapped).

League reveals slate for "NFL100 Game of the Week"

Agree on the AFC West as a whole. Probably there were bigger games the weeks they played. Redskins-Cowboys I would have had as the late Thanksgiving Day game and Bears-Eagles on Thanksgiving Night with the idea of Cowboys-Eagles being the following Thursday. As for the Browns, remember, although they have the old Browns' records they really have only been there since 1999. Steelers-Ravens I would have understood because of both more recent years AND the Ravens being the original Cleveland Browns.

Interesting given Eagles-Cowboys is considered a bigger rivalry.

League reveals slate for "NFL100 Game of the Week"

Probably because certain teams are not scheduled to play each other. Chargers-Dolphins are the teams that played in what I still consider the greatest game in NFL history, the 41-38 Charger win in what was one of the most emotional games as well.

    What is Chucky up to?

493 people are talking about this Twitter Ads info and privacy Now what exactly would a surprise pick be? Could it be doing whatever it takes to add quarterback Kyler Murray? Maybe they have their eyes on another QB like Missouri's Drew Lock, who a recent mock draft had the Raiders taking via a trade with the 49ers. If the surprise will be in fact a signal-caller, Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins could be an option, as the Raiders reportedly are "super impressed" with the former Buckeye. Mayock said in January he wants to create an open building with transparency between coaches and scouts, with everyone pulling in the same direction. Perhaps that means more employees of his and Gruden's liking than anyone else's. The Raiders' draft room will be busy come Thursday night, though it might be a little more empty than usual. The scouts who were sent home could soon be looking for new jobs. "For a lot of them there isn't a reason to come back because they're going to have significant turnover if the draft room," Rapoport said. "And a lot of those guys who left, Hold onto your seats, Thursday can't come soon enough. Dave Gettleman will I'm sure be off the hook if say the Raiders traded up to 2 to get Haskins.

NFL schedule to be released tomorrow nite at 8

😂😂😂😂😂😂 That to was something that should have been considered. Anyway, we all know the Eagles play three road games in October so as not to upset "old guard" types in MLB if the Phillies do get to the World Series.

This is going to be a MUCH more conventional league than the first time in 2001. McMahon learned a lot from it.

2019 NFL draft in Nashville - who's going?

They certainly have the arena (Bridgestone) that would be NBA-ready if they did expand there. I suspect if they did a Memphis-Nashville rivalry would be a big regional rivalry there. Baseball I get the issues with.

That was because Trump, after essentially being rejected to buy the Cowboys in 1983 for $50 Million wanted to force a merger with the NFL.

They were in trouble to begin with for sure, so yeah. The real problem is this is NOT 1983 (when the USFL started) or 2001 (when the XFL's first ill-fated try happened). The NBA is WAY more popular now than it ever has been (actually passing baseball for second in popularity) as is college basketball. That likely played a big part as well. I suspect because Vince McMahon is behind it the XFL will succeed, but it will be an uphill climb.
  24. Greg Schiano, hired just weeks ago by the Patriots has already left: Is that all, or will there be more on this?
  25. Not a surprise because this has been rumored for some time: Suspect they did that knowing if they opened with the Pats in that game, Chiefs and Saints fans would be very upset because they felt they were both robbed and that Super Bowl win carries a huge asterisk (not to mention what has come out since against Robert Kraft). Pats will play Week 1 Sunday night opener against an opponent to be determined. I would have myself had the Pats open on the road in Week 1 and then play their home opener in Week 2 on Thursday night that also would have been on NBC and treated as if it were the season opening game as this would fully compensate NBC for losing the Week 17 Sunday Nighter in 2017. FOX/NFL Network would have been compensated for losing the Week 2 Thursday nighter by getting EITHER: A "Black Friday" game in London with a 2:30 PM ET (7:30 PM local time) kickoff (and the Premier League plays mid-week fixtures so the NFL could do a Friday night game in London). If this were done, teams would get their bye week ahead of this game. OR A Week 15 or 16 Friday Night game that would have teams playing that game getting their bye week in Week 14 or 15.
