[News] Early Thinking On Some Roster Battles To Watch

Big Ben right now is 6th all time in passing yards and depending how many more years he plays good chance he gets in the top 5.... Big Ben is 7th all time in Tds could also place in the top 5 as well when he decides to hang them up add the pro bowls and the two SB championships

Two time SB champ and his stats are among the best as well and likely to still play handful more years not that hard to believe he would be a 1st ballot

AG has a bad year though stats were damn near identical but we want Cobb who had 25 catches 375 yards only 1 td oh and he played in 15 games so no excuse of injuries either(and if I hear so bs of well rodgers was hurt guess what So was Wentz)

AG has 372 of his 736 yards in the first half the season....So over half his yards came in the first half with Wentz....That is with the fact he was pretty much the top WR with Alshon missing 3 games in that stretch and wasn’t in top shape even when he returned. talk targets and catches 41 of AG catches came again in the first half the season So again how is one year bad and one year good when the stats were damn near identical

I mean AG has had back to back season with identical stats for the most part so how is one good and one bad???? We all know he had a terrible first two years

Not expecting to get a Zeke or Barkley caliber guy not at 25 but I mean I wouldn’t even put Jacobs with Sony but I really like Sony coming out(damn NE)

They saying we really like Josh Jacobs I just don’t see him being our first round pick....Hell he might not even be a 1st rounder anymore after his pro day running a 4.6 40

I value the all around guys as well and the guys that I’m looking at high in the draft....Later rounds are their to find guys that specialize in one key area holes in the rest of there game is what makes them fall....

Hicks could have been a stud in this league if it wasn’t for injuries shame....

This is true 2 LBer sets are slowly becoming the norm. Nickel D is slowly becoming more the base unit...hence my love for the big nickel sets with 3 S now

I mean the days of the big 255-260 plus size LBers are dead that is true but LBers still aid vs the run....He isn’t wrong that in today’s NFL it is a must that they can cover if they want to have a long career....Todays LBs tend to be in that 230-245 range

Jags also lost Paul at MLB have to wonder how that effect the whole D unit he was the QB of that unit got everyone lined up correctly

[News] Early Thinking On Some Roster Battles To Watch

Also kind of skewed stats since the Jags were trailing and losing a lot teams of course opted to run more on them which in turn makes the whole team look worse against the run....Similar story to us we had such a great run D in 17 in part because we got out to such early leads forcing teams to adandon the run sooner and get in pass mode

I mean wasn’t Malik Jackson also a part of that stout Jags D of 2017 pretty sure Jags D and he did just fine vs the run that season

I don’t want to take Lawrence because he is a great run stuffer I want us to take him because we believe he can be a great all around player....That is the question I ask myself when it is Wilkins vs Lawrence who do I believe is the better all around player and I think it is Wilkins

Pretty sure he went to the pro bowl in 17 could be mistaken but he was a high end start in 17

Maragos a full time ST ace and Sendjo a former pro bowl S......Not sure how we see him as the Maragos replacement but alright

[News] Early Thinking On Some Roster Battles To Watch

Again could see us going to sets with Sendjo Jenkins McLeod as more of the base D vs running downs then on the more passing downs switch it to say Maddox back deep with McLeod since they are the better cover guys

I see the nfl going to more nickel regardless...3 LB sets are all but dying....Hence why we are seeing more of these hybrid LB/S as the 3rd LBer or just those big nickel sets with 3 S

[News] Early Thinking On Some Roster Battles To Watch

Could flip it play Sendjo as the SS short zone(not that far removed from a strong year with the Vikings believe he was a pro bowler) move Jenkins around where ever

[News] Early Thinking On Some Roster Battles To Watch

My guess McLeod is the deep S been his role since he got here....Jenkins can play as the SS and put Semdjo up near the LoS as the quasi LB type....Jenkins is free to play the short zone deep zone or man up as the nickel Would guess the Sendjo is less of a liability vs the pass then most LBs and isn’t a complete liability vs the run
  23. BleedingGreen93

[News] Early Thinking On Some Roster Battles To Watch

Sendejo allows us to use the big nickel D which again to me is what the new base D will slowly start to tranform into.....Having that S down near the line that can double as the quasi LB or nickel Cb is huge and most teams now play out of 3 wide sets so having 3 LBs on the field for the most part is a liability

I mean I wanted Berry but I knew it would be a pipe dream lol

Sounds to me a good signing should take the Graham role in our D as the 3rd S
