  1. welp. I am off!! New Orleans should be allot of fun. Never been there before and staying right next to MArket street.... See you when/if I get back....
  2. I have a group of friends I met here about 15 years ago. We all email each other now, but most never come on here anymore. Ham has since joined our group and I think he enjoys the group. We disagree some, but we respect the others opinions for the most part. Not sure if any of you would remember them anyway to be honest. Brizer would as would others from the Eye. That was the old times. Those in my group left the EMB for the same reasons you are talking about Wrang....
  3. I was one that did not like Mills. But I had to change my mind when the defense played so much better after he returned to the line up. He may have faults, but he also plays better than others on our team....
  4. Also knowing how to grab them without being caught! Sherman tends to hold allot and only for a second so does not get called that often. But he gets beat on long routes too... he has a great way of knowing where the QB is going to throw the ball and where....
  5. Welp, My plane to NO leaves tomorrow Morning. Howie told me to have a sit down with Klein and Apple. Of course I said no problem. They will be looking for your call after 4PM March 18th! I got it covered!!
  6. Well, One thing we all agree on is no one knows what the Eagles will do. They always seem to surprise us with something each year. A LB seems to be in the mix now that they released Bradham..... Maybe a WR and a CB or a DL or even a OL.... I would think they would try and make an effort to minimize the needs so they are more free to draft whomever is the best player when they pick... Knowing that WR is so deep, I would think they only sign 1 there but that is a guess like everything else I said lol
  7. We think alike BG93! That is one of the two I liked. The other being Martinez from GB. Although he does not tackle as well as I would like. He is a gamer....
  8. I like the idea of signing Perriman. His 40 time is faster than anyone in the draft. Of course, playing in Tb cannot help his stats. That QB is not an accurate thrower.... I agree that no one knows what they are going to do my friend. I am just voicing my thoughts on the matter. I prefer we sign 3-4 FA's with the cap we have available while saving the 9-10 mil We will need for the draft.
  9. Joe, I really think you are the only one that feels this way. I haven't seen one other post anything like. "Let's Sign Cooper" on here. Most feel money better spent on other positions which are not plentiful in the upcoming draft. Why? Because it makes most sense. If you can sign 2-3 starters or Cooper, Why would you not do this? Aren't there other #1 WR's out there in FA that won't cost us? Sure, you say Howie will not let this happen. He will back load contracts. Well, look what happened to Jeffrey contract. We are sitting on a bunch of dead money if we cut him and looks like he will not play at least until week 4. Even if he does play week 4 he won't be near game shape so the first half the year is gone. Probably best thing we can do is send him and a 7th round pick to unload his salary.....
  10. Joe, no one is going to give us a player or a pick for Alshon. I am not sure why you think this is possible. Every GM in Football knows we want to unload that contract. So you think they will help us out? Not going to happen. Read this and maybe you will see what I am talking about.... https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2019/12/13/21020587/alshon-jeffery-injury-recovery-eagles-wide-receiver-lisfranc-foot-months-2020-cut-trade-salary-cap
  11. BTW- Pre 6/1 Trade for Alshon creates 16.196 Mil in dead cap for the Eagles... Not sure anyone would trade for him after June 1st as most rosters will be set.... Pre June 1st release is like 26 mil dead cap
  12. One could argue Terrell Owens ended up a bust for us. He had the one great year and that was it... How about Andre Rison... Signed with Cleveland after making 4 Pro Bowls... Ended up a bust for Cleveland...
  13. I hope we do better than that this year. Hopefully we draft 3 starters and 1-2 reliable back-ups....
  14. I understand that he won't make 13 mil a year Joe. I was just throwing out the average.... We are good on Howies contract magic
  15. Joe, I know we are going at it, but I just do not want another high profile bust. We have had too many already. Kearse, Asomugha, Maxwell, Murray, Stacey Andrews (6 years- 38.3 Mil) and Blain Bishop... All busts some were pretty high paid busts! You feel Cooper will be a top WR. I say he isn't one now and won't be one after we sign him. Anyway, Let's move on...
  16. I agree 88 or 90, who cares? OK, YES Cooper did have Dak. I agree with that. How much that come into play I have no clue. I am sure it does to a degree. I still do not want Cooper. Hey, you do. Everyone else I have talked to does not like it. Maybe we are tired of signing FA's to huge contracts only to have them fall flat on their face. I wouldn't sign anyone for more than 13 mil a year and that dude had better stand tall.....
  17. When has Alshon been healthy? Easily a top 20 when healthy? Then why get rid of him? I disagree that he is a top 20 WR, maybe not even a top 30 when healthy now. He is much slower. Buffalo has 90 mil to spend. You say I am looking thru Eagles Fan Tunnel Vision? I say it is you who is placing much more value on Jeffrey because you are a fan. Why shouldn't Buffalo spend 98 mil on Cooper? They can easily afford it and he is healthy. Where did you read Cooper was not healthy the last 3 games? I didn't see that anywhere.... LOL- Who did Cooper draw attention for? I don't know what you are talking about. You don't think Thomas drew attention? Devante Adams? Hopkins? They are all drawing a bunch of attention and they still made a huge impact on the game. Cooper disappeared. Period. I want no part of him....
  18. Just wondering, Would you offer a 5 year deal to Byron Jones for 65 mil? that is 13 per year. May be a bit high as compared to others, but he is a solid player and steady as it comes. Also would eliminate one need in the draft. I also like Either Martinez (GB) or Kwiatkoski (Chi) as possible FA's at LB. Thinking we may be able to get the latter for less cash. Maybe $5 mil per year? So you would take care of two positions and give yourself a little freedom in the draft.
  19. His 40 time is 4.42... That is slow? I don't know anything about him other than what I read, but that is not too slow in my mind...
  20. The more I think about it, the more I feel Dallas Does NOT resign Cooper. Heck, the coaches had him on the bench at the end of games where they needed a score! IF the coaches did not have faith in him, why would Jerry resign him? When you look at "Clutch" Wr's I think of Adams, Hopkins and Thomas. Look at their numbers in crunch time.... Cooper is no where near these guys. Sure, he made the All Star team. Great! I would much rather have a guy that will lay it on the line when we need him and Cooper is not that guy. Certainly not one I would invest 95-98 mil on.....
  21. We will most likely lose Big V. He is young enough and has shown signs he could start for someone. I doubt the Eagles pay him. We also lose Hill I think. Mills most likely resigns. Jenkins and Curry probably stay for a decnt contract. Not sure though.
  22. Who, in their right mind would give up anything for Alshon? You honestly think Buffalo would send us a 6th rounder for him? lol I would be surprised if any team would take him if we offered our 6th round pick! He is a major liability and all GM's know it. That money is not going away. You cannot compare Cooper to Wentz. That is like Apples and oranges. Wentz did not disappear. Also he had no weapons to speak of. Cooper did disappear. Did nothing the last 3 weeks of the year. The last 3 weeks combined 19 targets, 9 receptions, 135 yards, 0 TDs. One of the receptions was for 48 yards. So, he made 1 play in three games at crunch time. The rest of the time he disappeared. This is the player I want to spend 95-98 million on? Really?
  23. I agree Trini. I do not want to spend my cap on Cooper. I would much rather tie up a solid CB like Jones and grab a few other young FA's to fill needs. LB, S. DL.... WR is a very deep position in the draft. We should be able to get 2-3 starters this year, one of which should be an absolute stud. A stud you have for 5 years before paying Cooper type cash. I think we drive up the price tag for Cooper and let someone over pay for him, like Dallas. Cooper scares me TBH. He plays great all year then disappears when he is needed most? Really? We want to invest in a player that disappears when needed? I'll pass.
  24. I agree. I would much rather go after Jones!
  25. GBFL, Some teams do better than others. Better scouting, they seem to always get the right fit. Seattle and NE comes to mind. Settle had a real great draft years back... I remember reading about it. 7 starters I think ....
