If we were to add McCoy this DL is going to be S-C-A-R-Y! And if they are somehow still able to land Wilkins (Cox - Jackson - McCoy - Wilkins), dear Lord! And to add McCoy without giving up any draft capital (and not count against the comp pick formula) would be huge.

    Are the stars lining up?

    Sure looks like it...

I really enjoy watching solid DL play... It's a big help to those DBs left out on the island

Still like Johnson and if he can be had for a fourth or lower then we should look to bring him in. I'm still more in favour of drafting a young RB though.

I prefer they wait til after the draft... If they are gonna make a trade... If nothing else,  it would turn into a 2020 draft pick... Rather than messing with this years draft... Though I would not be surprised if this trade was made during the draft

So in regard to Benzschawel, Zangaro mentions our top interior OL backup is the unproven Pryor ... and goes on to think we solve that with another unproven rookie? I don't doubt we add some pieces to the mix either via a draft pick or UDFAs, but I also think we'll add a vet to the mix (after May 7th when FAs no longer count against the comp pick formula).

I agree with you,  Eagles add OL when it does not hurt against future draft picks... Just some added security

I doubt we'll see either a RB or LB with pick 25 but if we were to sway from what appears to be organizational philosophy, I think RB would have a better chance at being selected there than LB. Still I give only a 10% chance we see a RB in the 1st. Pretty sure we're going to go DL. After that OL seems most likely with WR and S as options 3a and 3b.

If it were my decision... I would trade up for a DT...

Doubt Eagles and I are on same page...

I think the cover that extra 2nd round pick...

Think they are gotta sit tight and see what falls to them.. If it's a guy they really like... Be it OL,  DL,  RB it whatever.. Think they have their eye on multiple players as they should... Sitting right is a hard thing to do!

  5. I like Wilkins... Not sure how much Eagles agree,  with the area of draft he will go...

My gut says they go LB... Against what all the guru think... But I prefer DL with round one...

They really gotta be in love with Pryor and Mr Australia... Or they go OL in round one

  6. Howie is full of surprises... Until I read JJ has been in for an official visit,  I won't put him on my list...

Trading up in the first round for a LB would not shock me... They did not replace Hicks in FA... It's the only position not addressed in FA... This,  Eagles do not prioritize LB is BS... Not believing a word of that...

At end of the day though,  I think they have JP retirement or Brooks injury in mind in 1st round... And go OL... If they this a special player is there.. Trade up

Eagles have too much invested in Wentz, what you say makes sense (except for the Howie firing bit ) but it wont come into fruition.... My concern with Wentz moving forward is how his body will hold up, if he doesnt complete the season for the 3rd year in a row, we will have more questions than answers.... However you can always hope some team will go: Hey what's it going to take to get Wentz ? Howie asks for a ransom and that team is mad enough to pay it, then Eagles resign Foles and we build a dynasty that will last for years to come and become the Cowboys of the 90s....

right now Wentz trade value remains high...

mostly, because he is still on an affordable deal...with high ceiling

the Eagles have shown a great deal of loyalty to Wentz, he owes them a hometown discount...when contract renewal time comes

    Totally different situations

    roster decisions...are all cap related

no such thing, as different situations...

the topic is roster decisions...roster decisions are all related to the cap these days

without the cap...Eagles likely tag and keep Foles

without the cap...Eagles likely talk Peters into another season...no matter what

tell me that does not makes it related...without turning this into a 100 page response...on details

  9. surely, Foles does not want Eagles to tag and trade him...

    this aint gonna be pretty...

but at the end of the day, Wentz will owe the Eagles for their loyalty...an Eagles will expect to get him at a hometown discount come new contract time...

Restructure possibly. Cut? No I don't think so either. Peters is a HoF player who's loved and respected within that organisation. I'm sure Howie will be appealing to his better nature to help the team out even a little but I don't see an outright cut.

so...uhm, I guess Foles isnt respected

I would hope a restructure and a move to guard is in order.  Give Vatai a full year and see if he can do it, give Pryor another year of seasoning to take over at guard, and prepare Semualo to take over at center next year.

I agree  with moving him to guard...slash backup tackle, in event of injury...

I would like to see Mr Australia playing...RT or LT in  2019

My hope would be that if he does decide to retire, he'll want to stick around as an assistant OL coach.

what is the cap hit if he retires?

    article does not say that...

if teams dont take cap hits for retired players...restructure him for a 3 year deal...kmowing he surely wont play 3 more years...and lowers cap hit this year...

I have no idea what cap hits teams take on retired players...

  13. Howie has a ploy, he thinks he will get a hometown discount out of Wentz...for his loyalty

meanwhile, its unlikely Wentz gets extention in 2019...something most expected would take place

there is a lot morw to the Wentz is our guy story...

in Foles own words, he hoped he showed it takes more than a qb to win a championship...so, Eagles are taking the cheaper route, with Wentz

yes, I get what Howie has decided to do, from a numbers perspective...

  14. I am happy Eagles won Superbowl...bought Superbowl gear and such

during the Superbowl season, bought my wife a Wentz jersey

Foles won Eagles the Superbowl...that should mean something...

Wentz goes down again...Foles leads Eagles not just to playoffs...but another playoff win...

If Foles is not Eagles qb going forward...Howie deserves the same fate as Chip Kelly
