 It's been argued to death. They aren't trading him because he's the face of their franchise, that's really all that needs to be said.

LOL yeah, your opinion is the only one that matters

And? There are numerous well paid reporters that have said Wentz is the guy, more importantly, the guys making the decisions FO and coaching are the ones that have repeatedly said that and it holds a great deal more weight than any sports reporter.

every Eagle voice, postures for best value...

i.e., they say...what needs to be said to maintain best trade values...

they are not tipping their hand...

Yeah, what have I said that's as moronic as "trade Wentz?"  Riiiiiight.

No the chances Wentz gets traded is 0, not Fin slim and no, it's not on their board. Wentz is the Eagles franchise QB, I don't understand why it's so hard for you and these other morons to grasp that.

    2 views to every story...

call someone a moron, when you cant argue your point...

I have stated why Foles should remain...and that, wins the day

some well paid sports reports, agree with my view

No. It's not having fun, it's being moronic.

I can damn well guarantee you that Howie&Co have had a plan in place for months, they haven't just been sitting on their hands.

Wentz will be the starter and as of today, I'm saying they re-sign (Restricted Free Agent) Nate Sudfeld to be his back-up.

you are actually great at saying dumb stuff...

plans change on a dime...new opportunities come up like a flash flood...

sure, teams put plans in place...but they change upon new circumstances...

Eagles landed a stud RB out of no where post draft...then another mid season during Superbowl season...

there are so many, I would be writing a book...to list them

chances Wentz gets traded, sure it is slim...but surely, it is on their board...and a Godfather trade...surely could happen...especially with Miami

and I am enjoying this speculation

But is it worth the risk that you don’t find a dance partner then are landed with a 25 million dollar backup?

i suppose if they have already agreed upon a deal then there is no risk.

I am most certain the Eagles and Dolphins have talked...

no, it sure is not going to be 25 mil for backup...

somewhere in this mix, surely is a Wentz trade...it just might not be at the juicy point yet...just enough interest, Eagles know that they are in no lose situation

listen, this could go simple...Foles to Jags for pick and a player

or it can go bat crap crazy...Foles remains an Eagles...Wentz go to Dolphins for boat load of picks

    the speculation, is fun!

Stop! Your BS scenario isn't going to happen.

there is a fool born every minute...if someone offers Howie something crazy for Wentz, he is gone...

gotta say, reports of Eagles using tag on Foles...extends chances birds trade Wentz

most interesting next move, would be Foles paying or not paying that 2 million for his FA freedom...forcing birds to use tag, for possible trade

batten down the hatches boys, this is gonna be a wild ride!

    Not really confusing.

The Eagles officially have a week to pick up his $20.6 million option, once it becomes official, Foles has 5 days to opt out, if he does that, which is the expectation, he has to submit it in writing and pay back the $2 million bonus. That $2 million becomes a cap credit for 2019.

Let's say he doesn't opt out, that means his option would become fully guaranteed on the 3rd day of the 2019 league year, which is March 15th.

Let's say he opts out. What happens then? Well, the Eagles can either let him hit the market, or, they can use the franchise tag, which for QB's in 2019 is around $25 million, or, $4.4 million more than Foles option. The only way for the tag and trade to really work is, if, Foles waits until the Eagles facilitate a trade, then he comes in, signs the tag and on March 13th, is officially traded to a new team.

The reason why I say it's the only way for it to work is because, if they apply the tag and he signs it early and they can't facilitate a trade, then they're on the hook for the $25 million as it's fully guaranteed the moment it's signed.

Having said all this, I doubt highly they'll use the tag unless they already have an agreement to a trade, or, there's one in the works.

just saw on tv eagles expected to tag foles..

Well an extra 2nd (or if lucky a 1st) in this year’s draft would be tremendous, especially since we pissed away our 3rd.  But an extra $2M in cap space (and a 3rd rd comp pick in 2020) is a decent consolation 2nd.

just read they are doing this to get a 3rd back in this years draft...which makes sense

dont know the impact on the cap, on one hand...they get 2 million back...

then there is the cost of the 1 year deal, traded percentage...ect...stuff is confusing...

just trade Wentz for the Godfather deal...less complicated

Previously he was under contract for 2019 and 2020 (albeit at high cap #s for both years).  Now with the ‘’reworked” deal he is only signed thru the end of 2019.  Wouldn’t that expedite the need to get another S on board to start grooming for his eventual departure?

agree, think Eagles grab a S in first 2 rounds...especially cause I doubt Graham returns, he was close to retirement last year

Jags make the most sense really. They have a team who with an improved offense and a focused defense could make a big leap. In the 2017 season they were one half way from the Super Bowl so there's talent there and Bortles holds them back.

NY, though I hate to say it, would be a great spot for Nick. They are likely to add to their O line again and they have a Ln outstanding RB and weapons on offense. I think NY could be a better spot for Nick than Jacksonville but will we want to make that trade? I don't want to say absolutely no way because we traded McNabb to Washington but I think that was a different situation.

Denver isn't a bad shout either but I think that is a team built around a defense.

The one that isn't mentioned that could be a good team for us is Oakland. Gruden loves to work with veterans and they definitely have the draft capital to make a trade happen. Not so sure that's a great spot for Nick though.

if its a FA situation...and he ends up a Giant...man, Eagles will regret that

If you believe that then there's no reason to ever watch another NFL game again, because the outcome of the games is pre-determined and therefore it's just a fictional form of entertainment, and if that's the case then the NFL should invest a boatload of money into CGI like Madden games. That would save a lot of players from life altering head injuries.

not saying ALL games are predetermined...but that Eagles Dallas game sure appeared fixed to me...

I believe more than a handleful of games each year is experiencing...the fix is in

dont think Congress can resolve that...its the way it will always be...
