What Pats fans are saying as their dynasty crumbles

The contact was on Hogan, who was not in the area at the time the ball was thrown so, it's not pass interference if the ball wasn't in the air or it wasn't in his direction. At worst its illegal contact. Yeah, it means another shot, but that's still another hail mary play.

    Gruden to raiders is happening!

I'd be in favor of a modified Rooney rule. I.E. if you've hired a minority HC or GM you are exempt from the rule for a time, or if you currently have one in place you are exempt.

I don't care who else makes it, if Dawkins does not get in this year I am going to lose my ! Especially if Lynch gets in over him.

    Gruden to raiders is happening!

Raiders cannot announce until they comply with the Rooney Rule. Not saying its not a done deal, but there's a whole process to this that prevents a guy from being hired an hour after his predecessor was fired.

Marvin Lewis is BACK! 2 year extension with Bengals

Guys, you're being a little hard on the Bengals. Marv just hasn't had enough time to get the players he needs to incorporate his system. I'm sure he'll get it done in the next 2 years.

I'd agree with the Ownership comment. I disagree with the Strength of Division. If the Bills, Dolphins or Jets job became open are you really going to discount the fact that you have to play the Pats twice a year. Or do you really want to go to the Lions knowing you have to face Rodgers and the Vikings defense 2x a year. Likewise, if you look at a division like the AFC South that has not been competitive since Manning left, does that not make a coach's options better. If I know I can go into a situation and win right away is appealing. Especially if you have a good QB (see colts, etc.). I know the league changes from year to year, but there are some constants that can come into play, especially for a young coach looking to make a name for himself. Wanting to prove they are worth a look. Is it a major factor? No. But its certainly in the conversation.

Go Panthers! Not that I like them, I just think they are a better matchup for us.

    Rams plans failed?

I hope the Rams get destroyed by Minnesota or upset by the Falcons. I hope all their efforts to get cute with the seeding comes back and bites them in the @ss.

The Good 1. Colts - Meh Division, a top 5 QB when healthy and a top 5 pick. If you can build a line and get an RB (Barkley?), they'll be in the playoffs next year. 2. Bears - I actually think Trubisky could be pretty good, he just needs the right coach. Flip would be a good option there. They have a dynamic weapon in Cohen and an underrated defense. They beat some Good teams this year on the strength of their defense. Plus the allure of a historic franchise will help. That said, this team needs better WRs and OL help. 3. Raiders— Hard to really say this job is even open, since its obvious its going to Gruden. Moving the Vegas may actually diminish the allure of this job. You'll also likely lose Marshawn Lynch when that happens. The Defense is also pretty suspect. But much like the South, I don't think the West is all that special. Carr can be great, the WRs are strong. With the right coach they could be back in the Playoffs. The Meh 4. Lions— How many more years does Stafford have? Plus, are you really going anywhere, in this division, with Matt Stafford. This is one of those jobs that can make a coach look good by winning early, but will never get them far. 5. Cardinals - This team is bizzare. If they make a strong push for Kirk Cousins, I think they could be a Playoff team next year (with a health Johnson). They need more weapons at WR, because Fitz will retire eventually. The defense still has promise. The OL needs help. The UGLY 6. Bengals - This is another team that could be a playoff team, but an early out. This team really needs a complete overhaul. Dalton could be fine, but he's the AFC Stafford with less skill. He's not going to get you far. Green is a talent, the RB rotation can be good, the TE is solid. But the Bengals need to rebuild their culture. Maybe a strong Coach can do that, but there are a lot of personalities on that team that can swallow you alive if you aren't strong enough. 7. Giants - How much of a say will the Coach have in the QB situation? If they can just cut the Cord with Eli, then sure they'd probably be higher. But let's be honest. The Giants have a LOT of holes to fill. The defense is in shambles, The OL is a mess, the WRs are often injured, their RBs suck, and Eli is a shell. They should draft a QB in the first round, but honestly are any of the QBs coming out any good. This Giants team has too many holes right now to be competitive. It's a complete rebuild.

A Plan to Fix the problems with the Thursday Night games

Here's the problem. The NFL has gotten to the point where they believe you will watch that Thursday and Monday games no matter what the matchup is because they know its the only game on. I think fans are finally showing that that isn't true anymore.

A Plan to Fix the problems with the Thursday Night games

Add a second Bye Week. First Bye week is between weeks 4-9 second bye between 10-16. That gets you a Thursday game week 1 and weeks 5-17 (Now an 18 week season). All Thursday and International games come after the Bye.
  16. The article I read had that fact buried at the tail end of the article. So it was easy to overlook. I agree with everything else you wrote.

18 Games: An Offer The NFLPA Can't Refuse!

Two Byes, add a 17th game for international/neutral site game so that no team has to give up a home game for these ridiculous London games. Games can be played in Mexico, Canada, London, Germany, or Huge Neutral sites like Happy Valley, Rose Bowl, or in cities with NFL teams but have NFL stadiums (looking at you St. Louis). Season gets to 18 weeks anyway. Bye weeks before International Games (if traveling outside North America) and Thursday Night Games - assuming NFL doesn't scrap thursday night games entirely as is rumored.

Should the NFL get rid of the "Mandtory Kickoff" rule?

If its the Local Game then you switch to the start of the local game, if its not, I would prefer they still to its over.

    Rolling R-word's (Trademark Pending) updates..

Starting to get really difficult for the Redskins. Federal District Court has upheld the Trademark Cancellation. Last time the Trademark was cancelled it was overturned by the District Court. However, this time seems the new Texas Confederate Flag case may have changed the position of the court.
