Super Bowl LIII: Rams vs Patriots.

Think we can all agree Saints and Pats would have been more interesting. Payton and Brees might have had a bad game but were not going to be the lightweights in the super bowl McVay and Goff were. If I wasn't so pissed over Sean Payton being a jack*** earlier this year in the eagles game may have pulled for them.

Its almost comical how Bellichick continues to embarrass the rest of the league every year.

Bellichick not only wins, he unleashes bad head coaches on the rest of the league he has tricked teams into thinking are good. Flores is the latest that may hold the Dolphins back for years.

One of the worst performances in Super Bowl history. Cam Newton in the loss to the Broncos only recent comparable bed soil for sure.

Hell I would to if he won me six Super Bowls.

Honestly didn't mind seeing a team win with defense after years of shootouts.

Only good thing about this result is I don't have to listen to the media cream themselves about the Super Bowl winner not going to the White House. Kraft pretty much proclaimed Trump his brother by another mother.

Held out little hope the Rams would pull it out. Pretty well knew Goff wasn't ready for the big stage.

Super Bowl LIII: Rams vs Patriots.

Well we learned tonight Jared Goff sucks. The Seahawks and Falcons handed the Patriots a second dynasty, and they overpowered the Rams to cement it. And the Eagles win looks a little more special. And the Pats can win with defense.
  10. In the wake of the Saints non call fiasco, I just couldn't help but think about how if coaches can challenge spots, catches, or fumbles, why not penalties too? As we saw in the other day's games, penalties and bad calls can change the outcome of a game. this could very well eliminate a lot of ghost holding calls, bad pass interference calls. Of course, there should be limits on it. Obviously you don't want every play challenged. But it seems to me that some options for teams who are the victims of bad calls or non calls should be available. What do you guys think?

Should teams be able to challenge penalties or non calls?

    1. Since icing the kicker merely involves taking a legal timeout, I don't see how you can legitimately make a rule against it. A team can take a legal timeout for almost any reason. Sure its annoying and it rarely even works, but I don't see a feasible way to really make a rule against it. 2. The only problem with this is, it would basically encourage every single defender on a long pass to practically rape a receiver to keep him from catching it, as obviously a fifteen yard penalty would be preferable to a 30 yard pass completion or more from the defense's point of view. In a sense you are almost awarding them for a penalty. Yes it seems like a freebie and sort of a cheap gain, but its probably the only way to go given the above argument. I think a more feasible way to alleviate the effects of these freebies is to modify the rules for what constitutes pass interference. For example I think pass interference should never be called if a ball is uncatchable, but it should merely be holding a five yard penalty and possibly a new set of downs. Also I wouldn't be opposed to at least limiting the effects of penalties that don't even effect a play. For instance a 40 yard run or pass play shouldn't be negated by a hold or a block that happened on the other side of the field. Five yards off the end of the run would be plenty in that instance. Just seems to flimsy to negate a long gain for something that didn't even effect the play, I think back constantly to Super Bowl 15 and that Jaworski TD pass that got called back on that flimsy illegal motion penalty on Carmichael. In my opinion it totally obliterated any chance the Eagles had at seizing momentum that game and may well have altered the outcome. 3. This is an interesting point, I never really thought of it. But since the motivation of intentional grounding is throwing it away to avoid a sack, and spiking a ball to merely stop the clock, it makes them seem like different beasts. Still you make a fair point. Not sure how I feel about it, probably something to at least give some thought to for sure though. 4. Again interesting point I'm not sure how I feel about. I think it depends on what the penalty is. I don't know if I would agree with every single offensive penalty bringing a loss of down. Some of them are to flimsy in my opinion. Maybe offensive face masks or pass interference but not some of the others.

It would be a damned eerie karma if you believe Spygate was a big deal.

Ain't sure this one was Reid's fault. He mostly kept the offense churning. Defense just couldn't stop Brady.

Nah, it really just ruins football. Its literally inconceivable this happens year after year. And nobody has figured out how to stop these guys.

Chiefs gain some momentum then shoot themselves in the foot. twelve yard loss on the punt and false start penalty.

Chiefs are lucky they aren't down 28-0.

Chiefs look lost. Looks like another Pats Super Bowl. Don't believe the Rams are ready to take them down.

    AFC Championship: Patriots @ Chiefs.

Not really. He's got Mahomes running for his life to much. Need some high percentage plays and quick throws to get his confidence up. Of course it could be that nobody is open too, hard to tell.

Mahomes lack of playoff experience looming large here methinks, he looks like a deer in the headlights.

Andy making the Pats defense look like the '85 BEars with predictability. Who didn't see this coming.

I got no beef with the Rams. Them or the Chiefs either one would be satisfying to me to see them put an end to the friekin Patriots.

    NFC Championship: Rams @ Saints.

If Alshon hadn't missed that pass, the Eagles may very well have ended it. They ran their damn mouths even at last year's Eagles team talking how they would have massacred them if they had beaten the Vikings. Now they barely beat a watered down version of the 2017 Eagles in the divisional playoffs on an Alshon Jeffery missed pass, lose to the Rams on a 57 year FG and go home this year empty handed, not even a George Halas. Congratulations you mouthy punks! 😂

For the record, that was about the worst non call I ever saw on that missed PI call. But they had it coming. Had Payton not ran the score up on us earlier this year I wouldn't have cared who won this game.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! F*** YOU PAYTON!!! KARMA IS A MUTHER F'B ***** AIN'T IT?
  25. Of course its always Eagles first. But if the Eagles don't make it this year, the Chiefs look pretty strong. Since Andy gave us a lot of good years even though it was Doug who finally got it done, would you all root for KC to win one and Andy get a ring as head coach? I guess I would, still got a soft spot for Big Red. I wouldn't want to see him go down as the new Marty Shottenheimer, always the brides maid and never the bride. Just curious how you guys felt. I guess I'd root for them if the Eagles don't make it. Hell anyone but the Patriots or the friekin Saints. My hatred for the Pats has dissipated a little since we evened up the score but I still don't want to see them win a sixth. I honestly of course hope the Eagles win tomorrow but its gonna be tough.
