I wouldn’t jump on the Daniel Jones hate train just yet

I wouldn't play him in fantasy either. Rookies are too inconsistent.

    Week 3: Bears @ Redskins

Makes me wonder if we will see Haskins vs Jones and if not, how close to being ready is Haskins?

I'm enjoying this as much or more then maybe anyone but lets be real. It's one game. Lets check back after 5 or 6, then if he's successful lets check back a year after that to see how he's handled that success, then if he's still successful lets see if he can perform at a high level in a playoff game. This is the beginning of a long journey. He does look great so far.

It's fine we'll get a higher draft pick. Giants have their QB and RB, and a ton of cap space. A top 10 pick will just make things that much better next year.

Actually Jones was pressured on over 40% of his drop backs and was sacked 5 times. Jones just has a different skill set because of his mobility he is able to function when the OL isn't playing well. That's the main reason Shurmur made the change. Eli is not mobile and needs an OL to function. It's not like the Giants didn't know this for the past 6 years. Tom Brady is the same way, the difference is his coach and GM has made sure he's always had one or he'd be on his way out of the NFL too. Eli is extremely clutch in the playoffs and plays well in games where other QB's fold. That book hasn't been written on Daniel Jones yet. We HOPE he responds as well to playoff pressure but he could always end up being a bum like McNabb that pukes on the field and throws a bunch of interceptions in the big game. Time will tell.

That's like saying if you take 40,000 yards from Farve he isn't in. You don't get to do that. He won those MVP's. It's done.

Last time I checked there were 22 starters on a football team. QB's don't win and lose on their own despite the main stream media trying to create that illusion.

A follow up question, Other then QB Rating what stat does Eli not have for the HOF? Seriously? He checks every box except that one. I think he's at 84 something. Farve was in the 80's. So is Farve not a hall of famer? Was he just a compiler? Give me a break. Eli is going to get in and he should get in.

Anybody who says Eli doesn't belong in the NFL, here is my challenge. Tell the story of the last 15 years of the NFL without mentioning Eli Manning. I'll wait.

I would say Eli didn't start to play really well until the 2007 post season. He turned the corner at that time.

If the Giants pick a QB next year I'm going to lose my mind. Gotta give this kid time to develop. Gotta draft up other positions to finally strengthen this teams over all roster.

What a career. Eli (Along with Coughlin and Reese) took the majority of the blame for the failings of the past 7 years. I don't think it was fair in the case of Eli or Coughlin... I can't say the same for Reese but regardless of how you feel about Eli (or Coughlin) you cannot deny their two championships or the impact they had on Giants football. 20 years from now people won't remember what they didn't do, they will remember what they did. Superbowl 42 will never be forgotten and 46 was also one of the better super bowl games. If you're a Giants fan now is the time to say goodbye to Eli and get behind Daniel Jones because he's our future and I hope he's good...

I don't get the running back argument here. If it's to devalue Squadron I would point out he's not just a "running back". He transcends the position. He impacts the game in ways a typical running back, even a good one doesn't. You have to account for him as a receiver, as a runner, and as a home run threat. He is a very unique talent. But yes in general an offense can be incredibly successful without a great running back. Two good running backs is often plenty to win with, especially if you have great players at other positions.
