Super Bowl LIII: Rams vs Patriots.

it's going to be a heck of a game. Probably a shoot out similar to last year. I will be rooting for the Patriots because I almost always support the AFC in the Super Bowl. interestingly, the Belichick era Patriots Super Bowl's (wins or losses) have always come down to the wire. Even against us last, year, which was their biggest win/loss deficit (8 points) it came down to the final play of the game. So even if you hate the Patriots, you should appreciate that the Super Bowl's they're involved in aren't like those blowouts like we used to have back in the day.

The Call People SHOULD be Complaining About

I was rooting for the Rams big time because I can never cheer for the team that knocks my team out (sorry, I take it too personally) but none of the penalties were as game changing as that one. I mean, who says he's even going to catch the ball, but he got plowed over and it looked malicious. We've seen far less contact get called before. If I could have remained neutral in my feelings, I would agree the Saints definitely got Fed on that one. None of the other calls/missed calls were quite as game-changing as that one.

    Jeff Fisher Sucks

in all fairness, he initially got what I think every head coach should get, unless they're just plain awful and no one in the locker room is supporting him, and that's 5 years at the helm. His first 2 season (1 as an interim coach, and not for the whole season) were bad, but then he had 3 years of 8-8. Certainly not groundbreaking but apparently there was enough potential for the team to stick with him. Especially that last year they must have known something was up because he went 13-3 each of the next 2 seasons including a Super Bowl appearance, a 1-off bad season of 7-9 before bouncing back and having 11-5 and 12-4 seasons respectively. In 2004 he went 5-11 and 2005 went 4-12. That's when he should have been fired. Even if he was fired then, that's still a 12 season run. For the record, he had 2 more playoff runs after this time though.

most defensive coordinators aren't very good at developing quarterbacks. If anything, he shouldn't have let his ego get in the way of hiring a high caliber offensive coordinator.

Time for the Rams to right a wrong

    AFC for me.

    AFC Championship: Patriots @ Chiefs.

too bad for Andy, but I have no issues with the Patriots. I've cheered for them in so many SB's over the last 20 years I'm practically a fan.

    NFC Championship: Rams @ Saints.

I can't remember ever rooting for the team that eliminated mine. Besides, the Saints are so damn arrogant (and kind of dirty too).

    AFC Championship: Patriots @ Chiefs.

As much as I want Andy Reid to win this game, I think the Patriots are my best chance at ensuring the AFC wins the Super Bowl.
  9. me too, but he doesn't have a chance

    Hey Dallas

true, but the rest of the league, hell, the rest of the division, seems to be moving faster than we are.

    Hey Dallas

I agree. A lot of people are talking like the Eagles were built to be a dynasty. We were built to win won Super Bowl, which we did last year, and got really lucky this year. I hate to say it but I see the Eagles going the way of the 2008 Philles. Might be competitive for a couple of years after that but within 3 seasons we'll be back to the drawing board.

81 combined years Brees and Brady

I'm rooting for New England. I don't think the Chiefs make it to the dance, and if they do, I can't see them beating the Saints or Rams.

JD Gibbs, son of Joe Gibbs passes away.

wow, what horrible news. Prayers and condolences to the family.
  14. agreed. Unlike most people, I'm not a Patriots hater. I've rooted for them in just about every Super Bowl they've played. Obviously the 2 times i did not root for them they were playing us, and I rooted for the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XX.

Your team can't win Super Bowl LIII ...

My philosophy is pretty simple: I root for the Eagles or the AFC in a Super Bowl. There have only been three times when I rooted for an NFC team Not named the Eagles in the Super Bowl: Super Bowl XVIII: I rooted for the Washington Redskins because I hated the Raiders for beating the Eagles in SB XV Super Bowl XX: I rooted for the Chicago Bears because they were just so much fun to watch. Who didn't love William "the Fridge" Perry? Super Bowl XLVIII: I rooted for the Seattle Seahawks because I live in the Bay Area and I hate the 49ers more than I hate the Cowboys. I did NOT root for the Seahawks to win XLIX

    Hey Dallas

after reading that entire thread, it appears we're much harder on Cowboys fans than they are on us. Sure, some of them hate us, but it seems we hate them more than they hate us.

Anyone going to New Orleans this weekend?

so in other words.... just like Philly?

AFC Wildcard: LA Chargers @ Baltimore.

football HAS to be fixed. What coach would have his players sliding to kill plays instead of continuing to run time off the clock? The Chargers did it three times in the last 4 minutes.

that was definitely a touchdown. Game is getting interesting. For some reason I'm finding myself rooting for the Chargers, which is weird because I don't mind the Ravens.

    Baltimore wins this one

    NFC Wildcard: Seattle @ Dallas.

In my heart I want the Eagles vs Chiefs, but in my head it's going to be Saints vs Patriots. I'm just saying if someone could knock off all the teams remaining, I think it would be the Cowboys. If it came down to the Rams against the Saints I think it could go either way.

    NFC Wildcard: Seattle @ Dallas.

Dallas seems like the type of team that's only going to score enough to win. they seemed as though they would have been just as content winning when the score was 10-6 as they did at 24-22. Every time Seattle scored, Dallas came back to maintain the lead. Seems they played us like that too. They don't mop the floor with anyone but they're good enough to if they wanted to.

2019 why don't we get games in 4k?

I have no idea what you guys are talking about but I'm always willing to boost my post count, especially when I somehow lost 15K posts during the "upgrade" from the previous board.

    NFC Wildcard: Seattle @ Dallas.

I agree with you. If there's one team most capable of beating anyone left standing in the NFC I think it's the Cowboys.

    bears aren't beating the Vikings

Let's just worry about beating the Redskins. Whatever else happens, happens.
