  1. Without getting into too many tangents, yes I think there will be a half dozen teams looking for new franchise Qb's next year. Plus he could be franchised so it could be 2021

Giants WR Golden Tate appealing 4 game suspension

Eli is flat out shell shocked, as in David Carr shell shocked. The O-Line was really bad, but Eli made it even worse by playing to phantom pressure. This has been very apparent for at least 3 years and Odell was 100% correct when he insinuated that he extended Eli's career. Im not saying Eli is no longer NFL caliber, just like any good backup he can hurt you if you keep him clean. But this is a guy who's defining trait was courage in the pocket and now its his defining weakness. I have no idea how any Giants fan would want to see a single more game of Eli at Qb.
  3. The NFL enters 2019 with a record low amount of franchises who are actively looking for a franchise Qb. But that doesn't mean in any way that there won't be plenty openings over the next couple years. About 10 teams have unproven young guys and some of them won't pan out including Mariota and Winston. Are we 100% sold on Goff or Trubisky? Throw in guys like Roth and Brees and yes Brady who are a big hit away from the injury that ends their careers. There are also crossroads vets like Carr and Dalton. If Dak hits the market he will have suitors.
  4. La'el Collins is also expendable. He's only going to get even more mediocre as a tackle from here on out and the Cowboys are swimming in young guards so he can't move back there either.
  5. It feels like 3 juggled balls in the air and any one or 2 of them could drop. And we arent even talking Byron Jones yet. Arguably as irreplaceable as any of them.
  6. Ok, now that ive defended your Pokes, admit it, you are really nervous about how this is playing out. It sure looks like AT LEAST one of these contracts is going to go sideways and turn very ugly.
  7. Washington is a GREAT example. One year after the Cousins trade and here they are hoping Haskins can develop by 2021 so they can get back to the level of Qb they had with him. Btw, I expect a pretty nice year for Cousins in Minny. I have no reason to doubt Dak could get 30m/yr (or more) on the open market at age 27 or 28 with his track record and current trajectory. This is a league that gave Sam Bradford 20m/1yr FFS. I'd go further and say Pokes better get this done fast, because they have surrounded him with such a good cast he could light it up, sans Zeke, the first couple weeks with that cupcake september schedule. Then he'll really want 40m.

Listing each NFL team's best all-time non-Hall of Fame player

All of that makes Randall a borderline HOF guy. What could get him over the top is his historical significance as a black Qb and his trailblazing for athletic Qb's overall.

    Really Cousins? Really?

Give him a nice shart for kicks. Hut! Hut! Ffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
  10. Sorry but I think you're wrong. If you think it is so easy to replace an above average Qb -- with a great health track record and young enough to still grow mind you -- ask the Redskins how things have gone since letting Cousins go. There are young Qb's all over the league, Darnold/Allen/Winston/Mariota/Garropolo. I'll even say Trubisky, who have yet to prove they can play at the level and with the dependability Dak has proven since day 1 as a rookie. And most importantly you have completely lost the forest for the trees, the Cowboys have their deepest and strongest roster since the mid 90's. A roster that is clearly going to be very difficult to keep together. Fracturing the relationship with the QB or the star player RB throws that in the trash. No man, the Cowboys do need to sign Dak. Hus market value is about 30m but if he hardballs it to 33m it won' be the worst contract in the NFL, or even worst Qb contract, by a long shot.
  11. He's got arm strength and all that jazz. His game, like McNabb, plays very well in the NFC east. He is not hot garbage.
  12. Yes, BUT. LOL. The Cowboys entire game plan is running the ball down your throat until you are too tired to stop Zeke. "Prescott's" game winning drives all come off of that strategy. As for the contract, I think we all agree 30m is plenty fair for Dak, but I also get that he feels grossly underpaid the last 3 years and thinks he deserves a little extra to get some of that back. Ultimately I think he goes for 34m/yr.
  13. I also think that's a bit much. He's at worst a bona fide franchise Qb and an elite game manager. I think he has room to grow.

Giants fans... Talk about the Giants

Mahomes sitting had a lot to do with the Chiefs being a playoff team with Alex Smith. You don't throw a rookie to take the lumps when you have a viable playoff team and an incumbent that plays pretty well. But in the Giants case, why do they need to see Eli get off to another 1-5 start? He's been trending downwards for 4 years now and the supporting cast isn't going to carry him. In building the Giants offense around Eli's diminished skills, they have also built an offense that should be comfortable for a rookie. The O-line is at least average now, Saquon is a beastly bellcow and the receivers are a bunch of check down chain movers. I'd go so far as to say whatever small chance the Giants have of making the playoffs, lies with starting Jones opening day. Who knows maybe this young defense and Jones can grow up in a hurry and make a run in 2nd half.

    Rolling R-word's (Trademark Pending) updates..

Yeah I really don't get the why there is even mini-hype surrounding the offensive weapons. Who's the star player here, Guice? Jordan Reed? Seriously?

    Rolling R-word's (Trademark Pending) updates..

Yeah this team is looking really, really bad. Without Trent Williams the O-Line will be another weakness. Reiff and Moses are good players but if they have 3 holes around them it won't matter. Offensive weaponry may be the worst in the entire NFL, Qb is going to be bottom 3 as well. They can't score. Defense will be ok, but we aren't talking a dominant unit either because the back 7 has holes to exploit. I've actually been bullish on Skins the last couple years and I think they could have made a plyoff run either season with better health luck. But the wheels appear to have come off. That said, they can turn this around fairly quickly in the future because the Dline looks GREAT and Haskins has tools.

Giants fans... Talk about the Giants

I mean I know it was preseason and just one drive, but damn Eli just hasn't looked that good in the pocket for 4 years. The camp reports have been great too. At this point i just don't see anything at all to gain by starting Eli week 1.

So Jones looked really good last night. Gianst fans have got to be giddy today.

This team is going to be awful this year despite having one of the better pass rushes in the league.

Zeke Set To Hold Out Of Training Camp?

I dont ever remember a team negotiating with their entire star triplets at the same time like this. Two of them on last year of deals and the other holding out. Personally, I think this is the way Jerruh likes it, he wants them earning it on the field during the season. Because drama or because he thinks thats the correct way to motivate his gang of thugs.

2019 Hard Knocks - Who gets it this season?

Have to admit I might watch this for first time ever.

Zeke Set To Hold Out Of Training Camp?

Ok, you're not worried at all. Season is a month away and you got 3 mega contracts getting juggled in the air. Yeah, no chance any of them drop. He would not sit next year, he has decided to hold out this year instead of next. Making him the highest paid RB isn't the issue imho, 4yr/60m is fine. It's the guaranteed money that is going to be a big problem, Gurley got $45m G, Pokes know they would be crazy to go over $35-$40m

Zeke Set To Hold Out Of Training Camp?

True, but also true that Cowboys fans are and should be sweating bad. That is 3 huge contracts with the season less than a month away and it sure looks like somebody is going to start the season distracted.

Zeke Set To Hold Out Of Training Camp?

In the same offseason they also set it at DE with Lawrence. They have to do their star Cb next year.

Zeke Set To Hold Out Of Training Camp?

Zeke has quite a bit of leverage. How did the Steelers do without Bell?, oh right they missed the playoffs. Pokes have a lot riding on this season and it does go poof without Zeke
