Has a Redskin ever made a catch against Samuel where he had to tackle them?

I'm not getting into this, i just posted an article that used facts to suggest that Samuel is the worst tackling defensive back in football and possibly the entire NFL. Dont take it so personally.

Yeah but this isn't the "Entire NFL Rolling Updates" thread so let's move along.

I'll say this about the Redskins this year. As much as they suck, as old and slow as they are, and as much as I think they're going to purposely tank the season in an attempt to land Andrew Luck, they kinda scare me a little this season.

Reason being that with all these wussified practices and less time to really get things together before the season starts, the Eagles favor smaller speedier guys that rely on precise timing. The Redskins roster is comprised of bigger stronger more physical guys. So going on that, all things being equal practice wise, I think just plain old physical dominance has a lot going for it.

I wouldn't call Ernie Sims the worst tackling LB in the East. He's piss poor at shedding blocks and takes horrible angles but he's at least an average tackler. Regardless, good riddance.

You are right about the 2nd part but as far as best team, I think the Giants are the team to beat.

We'll most likely be able to tell within a week, what type of season the skins are going to have. If the O-Linemen avoid signing with the skins, then the 1-TD wonder boy Beck is going to be spending more time at the ER than in the endzone. Actually, I'm pretty sure that was true already, but it will be even more so if the o-line is not addressed.

Skins first free agent signing? I predict they re-sign Moss. Yeah i know im going out on a limb here.

Doug Free would be your best signing. Add a tackle and a lot of problems go away for a long time.

After that a decent center... doesn't have to be great.

Then you can have a couple money signings... Reggie Bush or something like that.

They will sign at least 1 tackle for sure. They will either re-sign Jammal Brown or sign Ryan Harris. I think they might also sign a guard and move Will Montgomery to center..theoretically upgrading 3 positions.

ExtremeSkins Fan View: Cap Hell Rocks!

By Arthur Mills

ExtremeSkins.com

March 16, 2006

Don't hate us because we're beautiful.

No more blank, wondering stares, confused head scratching, frothing emotional outbursts, conspiracy theories or embarrassing, dismissive references to 2000. The Washington Redskins are the central theme of every NFL team message board out there. Here's a message to you all from all ExtremeSkins fans everywhere.

It's time to embrace the reality of it all. Simply, we're better than you. :-D

That's it. Look no further. We are better than you. We're more fun. It feels better to be us. We've got flair. We're audacious, capricious, bodacious, supercalifragilisticxpalidocious.

Are you finally getting it?

Yes, yes, I know cap hell was supposed to be upon us. I know that's what you've been told. I feel for you, I really do. As you come to realize we're better than you, a second bit of stark reality must also penetrate. We're smarter than them.

Repeat after me.

The Washington Redskins are managed, coached and owned by highly professional people who know more about running a football franchise than ALL the unnamed, anonymous sources any reporter has yanked from the broom closet and quoted.

Don't take my word for it. Take the following words for it.

Brandon Lloyd, Antwaan Randle El, Adam Archuleta, Andre Carter, Todd Collins, Christian Fauria. :-D

The question you all should be asking isn't, "How is all this possible?" No. The question should be, "How didn't we know this was all possible?"

Six years of assurances cap hell was on the way and you still allowed yourself to believe the tripe. Perhaps busting the cap hell myth as it relates to the Washington Redskins is just too painful a thing for media and fans of other teams to do.

Like a child coming to the harsh knowledge Santa doesn't exist, the media and opposing teams' fans are struggling desperately to hang on to the fiction that cap hell is on the way for the Redskins despite--literally--YEARS of demonstrated contrary evidence.

Here's the best part.

You don't have to hate us for what we're doing. You can do it, too.

"The thing I want to emphasize is this: We haven't done one thing that anybody else can't do," Joe Gibbs said after the introductory press conference for Andre Carter. "We have certain rules in the league. Here's the cap, here's the numbers, here's what you can spend, so everybody in the league can do what we're doing, it's just that they choose not to, many of them."

Deep down, this is really the issue, isn't it? You can do it too and you know it, but, your team doesn't do it, so, you have a hard choice. Hate your team, or hate us.

Say you're a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. You always have all those many millions available, which somehow never seem to get spent. All week you're hearing how you have LeCharles Bentley locked up as your free agent masterstroke to solidify your offensive line.

You are giddy. You're thrilled. You know this is the guy you need. He fills a need and makes it a strength. You're excited about the prospects of adding such a substantial piece. Then, the Cleveland Browns call, offer a few more bucks to Bentley and Bentley winds up in Cleveland leaving you with nothing more than whimpering excuses that Bentley is from Cleveland and always wanted to play there.

Oh, hush.

Antwaan Randle El is from Chicago. He's always wanted to play there. Yet he's playing in D.C. Adam Archuleta :-D admits he adores Lovie Smith after years playing for him with St. Louis and wanted to play with him in Chicago. Yet he's playing in D.C. Andre Carter just had to meet the Broncos because his father played there 12 years and he envisioned being the second generation of his family with the team. Yet he's playing in D.C.

And it's driving you crazy because you were so excited and thrilled about the prospects of adding a good player your management and owner can't figure out how to land while we get EVERY single player we shoot at.

We get to actually live the thrill and giddiness you only get to brush up against. And it's killing you.

Did we pay a premium for generally young players entering their prime with years left to play in the NFL? You bet we did. Kind of like when the Eagles lock up their own young players for a premium before they really emerge on the scene and everyone calls that genius. Think of it like that, only, with the component of actually being smart because an expensive 24-year-old promising receiver suddenly becomes a very cheap 26-year-old receiver when he grabs 80 balls.

See, we already had good players under contract. Now we have more.

As you struggle to find words to describe the coming cap doom heading our way, try to process one final thought. When you have that free agent you need all lined up and you don't get him, well, isn't that really what cap hell feels like?

I wouldn't know, because I don't ever have to feel that way.

And now you know why the skins continue down the same road to obscurity. The fans eat it up with a spoon. That's how Snyder has gotten away with it for 12 years now, and there is no stopping the idiocy train in sight.

And I couldn't be happier. May you have a long and healthy live Mr. Snyder.

I forgot about that gem. Didn't the 'Skins go 5-11 that year? I'm pretty sure the only reason why they didn't have to suffer armageddon with the cap is because the new CBA upped the cap significantly.

Brandon Lloyd - bust

Antwaan Randle El - bust

Adam Archuleta -

Andre Carter - Heyyy, what do ya know, they actually hit on one

Todd Collins - Crap

Christian Fauria - 2 receptions for 17 yards... all season

Good find, SD.

Adam Caplan is reporting that Will Hill has not signed or agreed to terms with the Redskins.

http://twitter.com/#!/caplannfl

You are right, the Hill signing was a very premature report. They did sign Indiana QB Ben Chappell, East Carolina offensive lineman Willie Smith, and North Carolina RB Shaun Draughn though.

Redskins fans are incredibly stupid

One gem from that thread:

At any rate, anyone throwing out a record like 4-12 isn't doing it because they've analyzed the Redskins' moves, looked at their upcoming schedule, marked down the upgrades and the areas that got weaker, compared strength of schedules from last year to this year, factored in how having a new coach and new offensive and defensive schemes effected their record last year, factored in how the team having a year's experience in those new schemes will help them in production this year...and then came up with their prediction

BWAHAHAHAHA

God, I hate that fanbase.

except you, redskinfan, you're cool. But the rest of your brethren are brain dead drones.

I'm been living among them since '92. The contempt I feel towards them can not be measured. It appears that redskinfan keeps it in check here. But I have no doubt he's whooping it up on ES.com, just like the rest of them.

"We got Adam Archuleta?!?!?!?!" WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!

"We got Adam Archuleta?!?!?!?!" WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!

I have lived among them for my entire 32+ years. My family is made up of Skins fans but old school Skins fans. Nothing like the new breed of fans they have. It simply amazes me how fans still respect and haven't turned on Snyder. They are fine with Shanny starting John Beck even though Shanny has a awful history of grooming quaterbacks and Beck hasn't played in FOUR YEARS!! Oh and then there is the much overlooked fact that he is 30 already and was the oldest rookie taken in his class back in 07.

A 30 year old who has been in the NFL since 2007 and has played five games but zero since his rookie season.

Either Shanny knows something 31 other teams didn't the past four years (including Bill Parcells, who got rid of him right when he got to Miami) or he's the dumbest coach ever.

I did laugh out loud when he said he wouldn't trade John Beck straight up for Kolb.

I would if i thought it he could be a franchise QB. It would just keep us from drafting a QB next year which hurts the team long term.

Skins also re-sign Santana! 3 years $15 million.

So the first day of free agency ends with the skins trading McNabb and re-signing Santana. Overall a conservative but pretty good day. I think from what we have seen so far this free agency period and last year's, Shanahan/Allen are much more conservative than Vinny was. Maybe the free-spending redskins of the past are gone? I guess we will have to wait and see.
