You gotta admit though you guys have some classics over there. Talking about delusional homers in denial. I always enjoy good laughs from reading those post.

ES is a great place for entertainment. Not only for the humorous rhetorical arguments that abound in just about every thread, but also for the threads like the one from last year about "how we all know a good team when we see one". And to tortously drag out the previous joke, ES must be that friends house that I go to for the great snacks or the gaming system, not the company of the friend.

Why bother coming here at all then?

Just like all their fans who have wandered in here during various preseasons to extoll the skins virtues he'll be gong by Halloween at the latest.

You really love ES, don't you? Seems like every time I come on here, you've posted another thread from there. You know what they say: home is where the heart is. :D

No, just satisfying my need for schadenfreude.

Because I enjoy reading about the NFL and the Eagles from a different perspective than just Redskins fans'. I get annoyed a lot at the hate for the Redskins, but it is what it is. I understand it.

I visit CZ even more than this one, and a Giants board every now and again as well.

LOL. I visit EMB probably 5 times a week. So if this is my home, I have really lousy parents. :D

Which is more than my ES habit

I'm not a trash talker or a homer. And I may or may not visit throughout the season, but it won't have to do with our win-loss record either way.

Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that there will be more visits if the team is winning than there will be when, I mean if they're losing?

I like this one fron an R- Words fan...

Our QB, who graduated from college early, somehow slept through Communications 101. He got his coach fired, blames the media for "twisting" his direct quotes, debuted a clothing logo after a 3-win season, and started something called #TheMovement which no one understands. Why he keeps responding to detractors on Twitter is a Fing mystery.

When sliding RG3 looks like he's falling off a bike. I've seen sacks of concrete mix fall off forklifts with more grace.

Our stadium experience at FedEx field is like a three hour prostate exam. Five hours actually if you include dealing with Northern Virginia drivers.

Our coach looks just like my college roommate and that guy was a D.

What's new that sucks: DeSean Jackson! The second the Eagles cut Jackson after his prolific 2013 season, the whole world knew exactly where he was going. Are you talented, but also in possession of the kind of deficient personality that renders those talents irrelevant? DAN SNYDER HAS A PRIVATE JET RIDE WAITING FOR YOU.

Oh My!

 I've been waiting all offseason for this article

Tony Dungy, who would have a problem coaching a gay player, won't say our team's NAME on TV because it is a hateful slur.

(FTR, I cant wait to read the Eagles one as well)

The Daily News publishes its annual, best-in-the-city National Football League preview on Thursday with one deliberate omission — the Washington franchise appears without the name Redskins.
Similarly, its logo depicting a feathered Native American has been replaced with an image that uses the team’s burgundy and gold colors to key readers to stories, columns and statistics relating to Washington.
Henceforth, in The News’ sports coverage, the team that has been known as the Redskins since 1933 will simply be called Washington.
Enormously popular and deeply ingrained in sporting culture, the Redskins name is a throwback to a vanished era of perniciously casual racial attitudes. No new franchise would consider adopting a name based on pigmentation — Whiteskins, Blackskins, Yellowskins or Redskins — today. The time has come to leave the word behind.
Loyalty, tradition, affection and nostalgia all weigh heavily toward accepting the name as an artifact that has been cleansed of derogatory meaning by association with celebrated athletics.
While the team ownership and many fans hold such a belief in good faith, the inescapable truth is that the term Redskin derives solely from the racial characteristic of skin tone in a society that is struggling mightily to be color-blind.
Still more, many Native Americans view the word as a slur born in the country’s inglorious victimization of their ancestors. Their representatives have persuaded a federal panel to rule that the team name and logo are offensive and should be stripped of U.S. trademark protection.
Why drop the term now? Why not yesterday or last year? The answer is that, as attitudes evolve, words can move from common parlance to unacceptable in good company.
See the end of “****” and the rise of “black” or “African-American,” the end of “retarded” and the rise of “developmentally disabled,” the end of “handicapped” and the rise of “people with disabilities.”
Here’s a simple test of whether Redskin passes muster: Would you use the term in referring to Native Americans in anything other than a derogatory way?
The answer, of course, is no. So it will pass from stories and columns chronicling Washington’s ups and downs. An inextricable extension of the brand, the logo will go as well.
At the same time, recognizing that most Americans believe team owners are right to resist calls to change the name, The News will publish the term Redskin in reader letters about the controversy and in quotations in stories about the controversy when a full quotation seems particularly relevant.
Otherwise, the name will not appear in the newspaper. Online, Daily News readers will encounter the name only in NFL stats packages and on a Washington team page that are provided by vendors. We will work to eliminate it here, too.
In a recent ESPN poll, 71% of those surveyed supported keeping the nickname while 23% said the team should adopt a new one — up 9 points from just a year ago. Movement is headed in the right direction and we’re proud to be part of the trend.

Could you imagine if a team today tried to call them selves the white skins or whites , black skins or blacks ..... You could go on for every color . I'm so sick of seeing people complain about it lol . Might as well be the Washington melting pots.

I highly endorse this article. I lived in the DC area and still listen to some of the sportstalk on delay. This article is so true that it hurts.

Look at its current legacy: ruined quarterbacks, ripped-off customers, fired coaches, a garbage stadium (watching a game in FedEx Field is worse than listening to it on the radio, stuck in traffic, on your way to FedEx Field),

This has nothing to do with the name of the team. Jack Kent Cooke signed a deal with Satan to give the Redskins three Superbowls. The team is just as bad prior to JKC, as it is after his death. George Allen 1972 is the Eagles D Vermeil (Vermeil coached under Alllen with the Rams). I want someone to sign a deal with the devil for three Superbowls for my team. I'll live with what Redskins fans have lived with since 1992 with complete bliss.

At least the only thing this hater website can come up with that Foles is ugly (compared to Cutler?). They massacre RGIII for his ego, and lack of NFL QB knowledge. They even bring up the Baylor statue. Who gets a statue at 24!?!? You get a statue when you're retired, with a HOF, or successful career in the pros. The only exception is Michael Jordan, who gave the Bulls three consecutive NBA Championshps.

RGIII is an mental egomaniac basket case. He makes 2005 Terrell Owens normal!
