That was a really poorly designed stadium all around. In trying to cram as many seats as possible during construction, they made the seats narrow and the distance between the rows tight. It's really cramped when you're sitting down.

And when you're in the lower level, you have to stand about 75% of the time because you can't see over the person's head in front of you. So as soon as one person stands up for a better view, everyone behind him has to follow suit.

You can blame that on Jack Kent Cooke.  It was his design approval.  It was an out of date 1976 "Giants Stadium" design meant for Alexandria VA to begin construction in 1993. Since Alexandria VA residents are filled with many snooty NIMBYs, it had to wait a couple years to break ground not far from the Capital beltway across the highway from the old Capital Centre.

Jack Kent Cooke didn't live to see it open in 1997, but for once the problems of the new stadium's season ticket pricing policies (under son John K Cooke) were just as stupid in 1997, as they are today.  Daniel Snyder only made them worse.

Just before Norman Braman sold the Eagles to Jeff Lurie, he paid for plans of a new Eagles stadium to resemble the current stadium in Buffalo.  Who knows....

Because Jeff Fisher is an overrated coach. This is who he is. That's why he's usually around the 7-9 and 9-7 mark every year.

Per Rotoworld:

NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports DeSean Jackson (hamstring) "may be ready sooner than later."

Jackson has already been ruled out for Thursday night's game, but could beat his 3-4 week timetable. He's reportedly looked good in individual work. Jackson has a chance at returning against the Eagles in Week 4.

Oh, he won't miss that game. He'll make sure he "gets his" by catching 4 passes for 120 yards and a score... and THEN he can go back to feeling like he doesn't want to play anymore.

RG3 and Kirk Cousins reportedly 'can't even be in the same room'

Things are going a little too well for the Redskins right now. They're 1-1 after thumping theRams on Sunday and nearly could be 2-0 and tied for the NFC East lead.

How about we dump some cold water on the party, courtesy of Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, who reports quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins "don't speak" and "can't even be in the same room" as one another.

"Simply put: they don't talk. They don't speak to each other, they don't communicate, they can't even be in the same room as each other because of the tension that exists between the two sides," Cole says.

Weeeeeeee! It wouldn't be a real Redskins season if there weren't some quarterback dysfunction percolating in the public sphere.

Why is this happening now? And who is behind it? You would think it comes from RG3's camp, but Cole's sources lit into the former No. 2 overall pick, now turned backup.

"The problem here for RG3 is this is a reflection on him. It's a continuation of a pattern where he simply doesn't get along with teammates," Cole says. "He's had problems with offensive linemen in the past, he's had problems with coaching staffs in the past. In other words, he has isolated himself from the rest of the team. That, to many people within the Washington organization, is an indication of his lack of leadership ability and his ultimate inability to become the starting quarterback and hold that position."

The leadership thing is going to be questioned. There's no tangible proof of RG3 lacking leadership. And Cousins previously praised Griffin for being incredibly professional about the whole process.

The good news for Washington? If the Redskins keep winning with Cousins under center, all of this will go away. Or should anyway.

Redskins QB Robert Griffin III responded to report of dissension with Kirk Cousins
BMS%20CSN%20profile%20pic.jpg?w=50&h=50&
BEN STANDIG
Monday at 12:32 PM

Reporting of a brewing feud between Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins surfaced Monday and the backup QB apparently responded.

The Redskins come off their first win of the season so of course part of the Monday morning focus ends up on someone who wasn't even in uniform thanks to a report on supposed friction between backup quarterback Robert Griffin III and starter Kirk Cousins.

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole dropped a video report Monday morning with the headline, "Washington QBs RG3, Kirk Cousins Refuse to Speak to Each Other."

"According to multiple sources within the Washington organization," Cole begins, "there is a problem currently existing between Robert Griffin III and starting quarterback Kirk Cousins. Simply put, they don't talk. They don't speak to each other, they don't communicate. They can't even be in the same room together at this point because of the tension that exists between the two sides."

Cole goes on to say this scenario is a "problem" for RG3 because "this is a reflection on him. It is a continuation of a pattern where he simply doesn't get along with teammates."

While not directly mentioning Cole's reporting, Griffin tweeted out an apparent response soon after.

What do we think: Let's start with the report. For starters, I'm sure there is tension, competitive tension. No doubt Griffin wants to play and I'm sure he's not happy with the situation. We've even heard previous reports about Griffin not being on the same page with teammates. But not being able to be in the same room? For what it's worth, I saw Griffin in the Redskins locker room Sunday. Cousins was also there.

But even beyond whether RG3 and Cousins seem like the type to give out the silent treatment, let's note the following about the source of the report.

August 19 - Cole reports the Redskins, according to two internal sources, want to make RG3 the starter for the entire season "win, lose or draw" so they can a full evaluation.

August 28 - Following Griffin's concussion suffered in Washington's second preseason game, Cole reports and that Colt McCoy and not Kirk Cousins would be the "most likely" option to step in as the starter if needed.

August 31 - Redskins name Cousins the starter.

Griffin hasn't even been the No. 2 QB in either of the opening games. So much for wanting to see this season play out with him playing.

Not doubting Cole's overall coverge of the league, but his recent reporting suggests he might be a bit off with his Washington sourcing.

On some level, none of this reporting matters, at least not the specifics. As long as Griffin is on the roster, such reports will continue or perhaps the QB himself delivers a rogue tweet that sparks controversy. The Redskins cannot let the outside world dictate their personnel decisions, that's true. But there are numerous reasons why the logical move is for them to cut bait with the player they drafted second overall in 2012 and we've discussed them at length. Potential distraction ranks on there.

Don't be shocked if one day after an impressive 24-10 win over the Rams, coach Jay Gruden either addresses or is asked about the reported beef with his quarterbacks. Ugh.

I’m not sure what’s going on with Washington’s social media manager today, but there’s a good chance he or she woke up and said something along the lines of, “I’d really like to make the saddest Vine in the history of the internet today.”

Classic.
