Eh... Yes and no...

Dmac was picked just as high as Carson was and despite annual trips to the pro bowl, fans still clamored for him to be replaced by the likes of AJ Feeley, Jeff Garcia, and Michael Vick.

My point was that until a  player ( picked that high)  proves they are not capable of going  beyond a certain point,he is allotted every opportunity to succeed.

Those who were bemoaning Dmac, did so only after he failed to advance beyond the division title, each time (until the season we had  TO) which was never entirely his fault.

There will always be fans who want someone else, that's just how some people  tick.

They wont be keeping Jimmy or be paying him . Brady still has too many years he still wants to play ..... Do you remeber the Ryan Mallet hype ...... How are other Brady back ups  Cassel , Hoyer and Davey  doing

They absolutely are keeping him.  They would have traded him for a 1st in this draft if they weren't going to keep him.  They drafted him high, have developed him and they like him unlike those other guys.  Tom Brady is going to be 40 this season.  He is officially in the danger zone of his career.  We saw it with Favre and we saw it with Manning.  Once you start getting in this late 30s/early 40s age range, when the time comes for you to lose it you do so overnight.  Favre had one of the best seasons of his career, should have been MVP and took the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game.  The next season he completely fell off.  Peyton Manning playing some of the best football of his career in Denver and then completely fell off in his final year.  With how well Brady played last season you would like to say and hope he will be able to play for 3-4 more years but he can completely fall off at any given moment now that he is in his 40s.  Pats aren't giving up on a guy they have developed and know can come in and be their Steve Young/Aaron Rodgers to their Joe Montana/Brett Favre when Tom Brady is a ticking time bomb from just losing it one day.

That is why you have Pats getting offers of 1st round picks for Jimmy meanwhile Foles is looking for a new backup job every season.

Jimmy will not get a contract extension . The reason he is not traded yet because he is not worth a first round pick and no one is willing to pay that. He has basically no playing time to prove he is worth a 1st round ..

The Patriots could easily get a 1st for Garoppolo if they actually wanted to trade him.

Honestly talking to you is meaningless because your opinion is officially irrelevant.  You think Wentz/Foles is the best QB/Backup QB combo in the league.  You think anyone outside of your Foles Cult of delusion would take Foles over Garoppolo

You Foles fans are so delusional.

You Vick fans are insane, if you want to re-ignite 2013 again.  If Jimmy Garoppolo were the Eagles QB (instead of Foles), and was traded to the Rams during the 2015 offseason, he would not put up New England numbers as a backup in St. Louis as a starter.  Do you understand that it's not the player involved, it's the system.  Matt Cassel was traded to KC when they were a defensive minded team, before the Reid years.  Cassel was a complete disaster in Kansas City.

If the Patriots are waiting for a first round draft pick for Brady's backup, they must think the rest of the NFL is very stupid, and doesn't remember NE backup QB's work well only in NE offensive systems.

So back to the beginning, if Nick Foles thrived under Andy Reid, Chip Kelly, and probably Doug Pederson, that doesn't make him a subpar QB because he was shipped to team that kills QB's.

I'm a Wentz fan, but I'd rather have Foles as a backup with real experience vs. Jimmy Garoppolo.  You just can't get over that Michael Vick was a subpar QB to a second year QB in 2013.

Because you're a delusional Foles fan.  If Foles was any good he wouldn't have forced two straight teams to make major trades to bring in a new QB to replace him and he wouldn't be bouncing around to a new team every year as a backup when there are some very desperate QB needy teams in the NFL.

You forget that the person who made the first major trade of Nick Foles was an egotistical amateur NFL GM blowhard (who made Andy Reid look competent) and thought he was smarter than Howie Roseman.  That person blew up the Eagles, and his destruction of this franchise in one offseason is going to take another two seasons to overcome.  You can't fault Foles for that.   When Foles landed in KC, he actually played games during the regular season to spell Alex Smith, and did well.  What do you have to say about Brady's backup sitting on a shelf?

You'll never get over Michael Vick getting replaced in 2013, it consumes you.  The only delusion in this argument is you.

That Foles trade was a great move by Chip though.  It brought in a better QB who the Eagles were eventually able to flip for a new QB.  Foles was so great in KC they cut him.  But weird how you would praise Foles play for an injured Alex Smith but you ignore when Jimmy played well for a suspended Brady.

And who the hell cares about Vicj?  You keep trying to being him up like you jave some point but you don't.   You ha e your continued delusion about a journeyman backup QB who is forced to look for backup QB jobs in a league without enough capable starting QBs.

Bro, I have to admit, it sometimes was a little bit much to see folks rip you on here. I get it now though..

Do you understand that a player can be great and still be cut? You do realize DJac balled the year we "cut" him, yes?

Eh, nevermind...everyone is entitled to their opinion. You hate Foles and no matter what anyone says (or proves), your mind is already made up.

And lets not act like Chip had a master plan by trading for Sam that netted us Carson.

The 2nd round pick that we gave, made it horrible and had Teddy 2 Gloves not gotten injured, we'd have a draft in Philly with no 1st round pick.

It's called "luck".

Nick Foles is not great.  If Nick Foles was great he would have been signed by some team to start or at least compete for a starting job.  That isn't the case at all for him.  He is bouncing around from team to team now solely to be a backup QB.

DeSean was cut and signed to start for the Redskins.  The delusion of Foles fans is alive and well.  "Great player" lmaoooo

But we still would have had Bradford who is better than Foles.

I'm not so sure about that.  Foles is what he is, a good backup. Bradford is an extremely overrated starter who has yet to accomplish many of the things Foles already has.

That's not so much an endorsement of Foles as it is an indictment on Bradford. Bradford sucks.

Never once said Foles was great smh. This notion that you have of "Foles was cut so he sucks" is laugahable.

Doesn't matter if DJac was signed to start for the Skins. He was cut....just like Foles was. Does that mean he sucked?

I can see some folks don't understand how he NFL works. That's cool...if you're a hater, jus fess up to it.

Foles hasn't accomplished anything besides blowing two straight starting opportunities with teams to the point where he can onpy lamd a job in this league as a journeyman  QB.  Bradford meanwhile is a starting QB being paid as such and just set the single season completion record on a team he joined a week before the season.

And has yet to lead any of the 3 teams for which he's been the starting QB to a winning record. Bradford sucks.

You didn't say Foles was great?  Then how does the bolded line in the below quote make any sense?  Why would you say that if you werent trying to imply that you think Foles is great?

Jackson was cut and has gone onto continue to be a starting WR in the NFL.  Foles keeps getting cut and bouncing around from team to team as a backup journeyman QB.  He sucks.  If he didn't suck he would be getting a chancw to start for one of the many QB needy teams in the NFL especially in a year where the stock of QBs in the draft sucks

Yeah he certainly isn't a great QB that is for sure.  But what is also for sure is that he is better than journeyman backup qb Nick Foles.

Still better than Foles. .

GMs still view Bradford at worst, a solid starting QB as he just broke the completion record while playing behind the league's worst oline and worst running game.

Foles couldn't get a starting job offer as a free agent.

If Sam were a free agent this offseason, teams like Jacksonville, Cleveland, Houston, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, etc would have lined up for his services as a starter.

I can't believe the Foles argument is still going. This is why some are actually coming concerned about fans calling for Foles if Carson shows any signs of struggling

Holy cow!

It's a blanket question because you keep mentioning Foles being cut as an equivalent to meaning he sucks. I asked a general question and then followed it up with an example.

Had I said "Foles was a great player who was cut"....then you'd have a point.

Jesus bro....you really hate the dude that much?

So why have 3 straight teams gotten rid of Foles with the last two teams cutting gim after one season if he is a good QB?

Just now, RememberTheKoy said:

So why was Foles cut then by two straight teams if he is a good QB?

1. Foles asked for his release

2. Foles' option wasn't picked up because KC's cap was severly hamstrung and they needed to get money for Berry. They also have a starter who they have money invested in.

This is too easy
