[News] No 'Off' Season For Eagles Coaching Staff

Recommended Posts

Jon Allen Bama could also fall concerns with his shoulders not sure how the Eagles would utilize him with Beau/Jernigan and Cox already at DT but could be good value.....Cox/Jernigan move out to DE little lol would be an interesting DL RE Jernigan DT- Allen DT-Cox DE Graham.....Not sure if it would work but fun to think about

Stop moving guys around, let them play the position they are GOOD at lol

Nah 3rd round CB's in this draft would be round 1ers in most others.can't see doing a CB in 1,but you know that by now.don't reach let them come to you, they all have enough talent to "git 'er done" as they say down here

Exactly so double dip get me Lattimore then go back in round 3 and get me a CB lol......WHy wouldn't you want the best of the best in a strong class.....

I am not moving anyone around said I have no clue how we would work Allen in if we draft him with the strength on paper of our DTs but I would image if you took him you find a way to get your best DL on the field together

"This is the time of the year when we have wall-to-wall meetings about the draft,” offensive coordinator Frank Reich said. "We’re detailing everything about every prospect out there. The draft is right around the corner, so it’s all hands on deck to get ready.”

Anyone else but me wonder how much time they have invested on the computer looking at draft prospects? LOL I realize that I am retired and have more time than most to look up players but I believe that most of you fans are looking up players as much as I am. One of these years I am going to keep track of the time spent. It probably equals the coaches.

LOL I'm sure we put more time in,but have less 'asterisks" to work with lol.Just want our scouts to be SPOT on this draft

Okay, next question. Is there a player you would trade up for? You are Joe Douglas now. Is there a player in this draft you just have to have? LOL

Would move up for Lattimore

You say this but you want to take a RB round 1 lol when you have really good talent later as well so why would you take a RB in a deep class round 1 and not a CB same can also be said about TE why take Howard plenty of really good guy later as well deep class

, Curtis Samuel, in Round 2. Samuel (5-foot-11, 196 pounds) did a little bit of everything during his three years with the Buckeyes. He rushed for close to 800 yards last year (7.9 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns and added 74 receptions for 865 yards with seven TDs.

Samuel is an interesting player might comapre nicely to Ty Montgomery of GB.....Don't think he can be a full time RB but would fit nicely in that receiving role

We need a grinder back to run out the 4th quarter clock.Maybe Watson is the guy, haven't seen enough of him or grab a late one like DeVeon Smith or Joe Williams. How many "finesse" RB's do we need? Marshall can do that.Tarik Cohen as a UDFA could be the Sproles guy if we don;t thin he;s on the roster right now

The ESPN NFL draft analysts released a dueling two-round mock draft on Wednesday. Kiper has the Eagles taking Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley with the 14th overall pick, and Conley's collegiate teammate, Curtis Samuel, in Round 2. Samuel (5-foot-11, 196 pounds) did a little bit of everything during his three years with the Buckeyes. He rushed for close to 800 yards last year (7.9 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns and added 74 receptions for 865 yards with seven TDs.

Eagles are having a private workout with Samuel on 4/11. LOL Looks like Sproles replacement in the second round.

I dont get the need Sproles replacement. Shouldnt the Eagles be focused on Ryan Matthews replacement. The starters replacement not the 3rd down specialist. 2nd round pick on a specialist bit high for me.

LOL Freak. At least it would be in the second round. There are guys on here that want McCaffery in the first and he would be a part time player as well.

Nah i think if you want McCaffery you see him as a 3 down back. Nothing he has done so far has shown that he isnt.

He has provided the stats, enough attempts to show he can be a 15-25 touch guy a game, has feet, speed, acceleration, vision, hands, character, mental toughness, the measurements. But im still seeing him being talked as a part time player only.

Hes been told there is a chance he could go top 10 pick now. You dont spend a top 10 or even top 20 pick on a part time player.

SOOO I say lose RMat,pick up Blount and then find Sproles replacement.Call me old school, and that RB is not as important as it once was,but nothing better than seeing a grinder back moving chains, wearing out the opponents D in the 4th 1/4 closng out the win while opponenets fans watch as you hopelessly put the "comeback" out of reach HAHA(love it)

Keep an eye on Bonnet. He can play the FB role. Now that Pederson said hes not looking for one now. But he was originally a TE. Could be 4 string TE, FB, RB.

4th QTR i really just want someone whos not gonna choke the ball up.. Ryan Matthews!

One of my favorite RBs in this class is Perine who we can likely land in the 4th round I am all for a big bruiser get a guy who isn't afraid to lower his shoulder dish out some punishment.....Gallman should still be on our board as well he has been kinda losing some steam lately but he isn't afraid to lower his shoulder either plus HUGE bonus coming out of the backfield

Yeah kind of a "weird" private here really.I don't know what they are searching for with him.Are they trying to find 2 "mobile finesse" backs to use together? I would still get Blount in here.Tough cookie and will get those 3rd and 2 chains moved lol.Samuel seems like a mini me Caff lol

What conclusions did Pedey and staff come to when self scouting? What new adjustments and ideas does he have ahead? This isn't a just going along for the ride coaching staff. They are hungry. Good coaches but they don't get the opportunity to feel comfortable about their jobs.

Isn't Caff and Samuel like the same size lol..... Dougie likes the Jet sweeps and stuff Samuel could be viewed as a 10000000x better version then Huff.....Get Samuel in the slot get the ball in his hands quick and early let him do the rest couple jet sweeps here and there....

Hey making a guy miss is a positive not a negative. We shouldnt give this guy negatives for making players miss. It wasnt like he was playing against High School kids. Shady did the same thing and still does it. Being a quick twitch athlete isnt something you can become. Its a natural gift.

There is going to be a negative in a lot of prospects. If there a 10 positives to the 1 negative does that really knock that player out of consideration at x round or even the draft.

Be good to see where he goes or what he can do.

You guys are worried about getting a bruiser to get the 3rd or 4th and ones? Tom Brady can get them by himself. Whoops, I forgot, Brady has a center in front of him that can move people.

That is the RB job is to make guys miss and make plays lol whether they do that with shiftiness or power doesn't matter
