Hollins isn't going to be going anywhere he will make the 53 unless he is hurt......The addition at WR could hurt a guy like Gibsons chances to make the team though or a Greg Ward who had a strong camp last year but then at the same time they don't deserve a spot on the roster if they can't beat someone like Wheaton

Hollins still on rook contract. Why would we sign Wheaton just to beat out other "no go" guys?

exactly why would we cut Hollins he is on his rookie deal lol.....Wheaton is the perfect competition for guys like Gibson and Ward etc. if they can't beat him then they really don't deserve a roster spot....You don't cut promising players like Hollins 2nd year into his rookie deal he is a strong STer and had some flashes as a rook in a very limited role

If you are the coach  . .... you have WRs #s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on your team.       If you add another WR to come in to compete...and that guy makes the team.   Which guy do you cut?   Wouldn't logic tell you #5 WR gets cut?     If Hollins is #4 ... why would you think he would get cut instead of the other guys?

I suppose that would depend on how impressive he is at camp.A #4 and a #5 are not all that far apart talent wise, but 93 made a good point.Just hard for me to grasp spending money for a #5(if Wheaton makes the team) when there are many promising rookies out there.I DO suppose as 93 said, this lights a fire under Gibson et al to let thyem know it's time to put up or say goodbye

What I meant to say was we spent money and if he DOESNT make the team that was wasted loot

Alshon also had a rotator cuff problem last year yet the way he performed we never knew it. Let's hope all is well with him for 2018.

What did we spend?  Is it even money that would count towards the salary cap?   If he gets cut is there any dead money?   There is a WR Marquess Wilson that is making $630k  .... if that guy doesnt make the team, the Eagles cut him for no dead money.... wouldn't Wheaton just replace that guy on the salary cap?   I'm not following your logic.   Wheaton was brought in to compete for the final WR spot.... either he makes it or not.... if he does then he replaces the cap hit for the guy he takes the spot from.

In other words ... no extra money spent for Wheaton .... its the last WR spot, someone is going to get paid that money anyway.   Why not bring in 10 more Wheatons, and let the best man win the battle for the last spot?

This is my thinking completely.....We tend to freak out to much on this board when it comes to these competition signings and I don't understand why......Just based off this season a guy like Matt Jones or Marcus Wheaton that we have signed if rooks can't beat these guys out for roster spots what does that tell you about the players????? These are not superstars by any means that teams are scrambling to sign these are very beatable vets in camp.....If you can not show enough in camp to take one of these guys roster spots then honestly you don't deserve it that simple move on

Don't understand how Teppers' ownership of a company which owns ownership stock in casinos is not a conflict of interest.

That's a lot of "owns"

Took DebCopied and pasted the url as usual - another change they didn't let us know about? Know it's the slowest time of the yr, have noticed it's really slow here and a few peeps usually here haven't been posting. Maybe IT should focus more on keeping it simple and enticing people to join than on change for the sake of change. JMO

A fun read for those who haven't seen it;

https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2018/5/17/17362600/gems-of-the-analytics-from-each-eagles-position

GB - they've also changed the options under the posting box. It used to give options as to choose what form you wanted to paste in. Guess we just have to copy then paste into a browser tab. I use Firefox so it may be different for others. Also use Duck Duck Go for its' privacy, google simply too intrusive

Good Morning all. I haven't been writing much because there isn't much to write about. Been busy doing other things..... As for roster battles, I say let the best man win. I like the competition at all position theory. I am also tired of these people coming out of nowhere to anoint Foles our 2018 and beyond starter. Listen, Foles probably had the best 2 games of his career in the play-offs. He made all of the throws and I can honestly say, that if he were to be placed in the same position again, I doubt he would repeat that performance. He was awesome. Having said that, Wentz is better at all aspects of the game. Foles is probably a top 15 QB, but he cannot crack the top 10 in my book. Wentz may be a top 3.....  Please stop the "Foles to Start" rants.....  I am out... See you all soon!!

Well Foles MAY start us off the season, that depends on Wentz.I don't want to rush him back for re-injury.if that takes a few games so be it.We need him for YEARS beyond.IF Wentz gets hurt again,we may have little choice but to pay Foles ALOT.The "lesser" QB battle should be interesting to watch

This place is a disaster. We just won the Super Bowl yet I feel like this site is making efforts to disenfranchise me. The newest Spuds article I can’t even find here on the boards. My old bookmarked PE.com comes up as a blank page. This all after they screwed us over to bend over backwards for That’s why I haven’t been posting here recently.

We're all feeling the same Ham. We've stood by our Eagles through it all, now feeling mistreated. Channeling my inner Akers - " Hey IT guys, we've been supporting our Eagles since before you were born! " Maybe taking our input for a change will slow the exodus from the boards.

Guess we’re not as important unless you post thru a Facebook profile or some other app. I am not a Facebook person. I had created a profile very long time ago until I realized what it was being used for,  with Facebook recent mismanagement of people’s profiles. I am even less likely to post. Probably showing my age with that LOL. I am glad some you guys are staying true. I almost feel like having won our first Championship, the team is providing even less information about our players. I miss the old School rookie camps you could count on daily blurbs about players  guess the other writers here don’t have anything to report. Addition by subtraction that sort of crap.

It may not be the Eagles IT. Some time ago Microsoft pushed an update that didn't allow you to post on several websites. 2 days ago they pushed a fix for that. At least it fixed it for me.
