[News] Early Thinking On Some Roster Battles To Watch

I was reading this story about the power struggle in Pittsburg where they said Big Ben has an owner mentality. And he only wants to win his way. Anyway it finished up with saying Big Ben is a first ballot Hall of Famer. And I thought whoooaaa pump the breaks a little there. He’s in good shape to get in the Hall. I’ll give him that. Had good longevetity. He’s a six time Pro Bowler and a two time SB champ. But first ballot I just don’t see.

Two time SB champ and his stats are among the best as well and likely to still play handful more years not that hard to believe he would be a 1st ballot

Big Ben right now is 6th all time in passing yards and depending how many more years he plays good chance he gets in the top 5....

Big Ben is 7th all time in Tds could also place in the top 5 as well when he decides to hang them up

add the pro bowls and the two SB championships

Nope... different type ... they are the quick guys that can get open in a phone booth ... Avant got open vs zone.    And YAC isn't close.    Avant was tough and could catch.  Give him attention and he wasn't going to get open... not like the other guys, especially Edlemen.

Whatever,I liked him analysis or not.If he was so awful why did we keep him here? lol

Sweet 76'rs win. Usually don't watch much but they were playing Boston and pretty much needed this game. Another game wrecked by rules changes, ie the 3 pt shot.

So I was noticing Byron Murphy, the CB out of Washington, only ran a 4.55 forty at the combine. That could be exactly what gets him to drop to 25. He’s been talked about in the running for best corner the whole draft process. That slow forty gets him a negative check on the man to man. Gets him labeled a zone corner. Works for us. But would you pull the trigger on a CB at 25? Not a need but very possibly BPA.

If he's slow why would we want him?? IDC if it's pick 25 or 225 lol and NO there WILL be better players at 25 than that JMO.Remember the NFL game plays MUCH faster than college and he's slow already? no thank you

Why is it wrecked because of the 3 pt shot? The rules are the same for everyone and not everyone weighs 250 pounds(see the old Nash from PHX)

Just liked it better when they had to work into the net more. Setting up a couple of 3 pt specialists around the perimeter takes away from the game for me.

He’s still faster than Rasul Douglas and Jalen Mills.

As for Ag, I like him as well now that his hands work. Guy comes up with some clutch catches and can break a run. Only drawback is I wish he'd toughen up a bit more, use his body for contested balls.

Deandre Baker only ran a 4.52 forty. That was very expected quite frankly. Heck of a player too though. Have to consider him as well.

Rather have a super quick S

Don't see how CB in the 1st is of great importance to this team at this time. We're pretty old in a few areas and contracts are coming up.

Exactly....that’s how good he/they are

Where were Mills and douglas drafted? With rasul you are talking a difference of .04 in the 40 lol,4 /100's puts him as a round 1??

Nobody remotely worthy at S for the 25th pick. That would make me sad to reach like that.

Nope no CB's that slow at 25 either. The top guys will go out before 25 and IMO a SLOW CB at 25 is a REACH also

Much more involved than just a forty time. But it could be the difference of them sliding to 25.

True, but if he can't keep up with these guys he's not a round 1 in my view

See rumors we have a bid in for Vinny Curry, may not be a bad move in spite of his age. I think we need DE, DT, RB ( FA and draft ), Interior OL, LB, S

He had a good second half of the year saved by the fact that Foles targeted him more often then Wentz did. He was struggling so bad we had to go out and get another wide receiver. He half the amount of TDs 4 instead of 8. He was literally invisible for multiple games.

That was 3 games that Foles played.... so Foles 3 games salvaged the season .... BTW ...check the targets again.   The targets with Wentz and then Foles the last 3 games.   See who targeted him more.

Tonight was good ... but usually I'm with MJK... the issue with the 3 point shot is the players get lazy.  Bird was the best shooter I've seen with clutch, a guy on him or whatever combo you want to say.   When he wanted the ball inside, thats where he got it, he didn't back up the moment the defense got tough... today, you see Centers and power forwards all shooting 3s and playing 20 feet away from the hoop.  Was better with only a few outside shooting specialists... not when everyone shoots them.   40 per game is a little much.  The issue is now thats all the kids do now too.  No instinct to go inside, starts from too early of an age.
