Josh Gordon UPDATE: Traded to the Patriots

Recommended Posts

LOL I would love for Dallas to pick him up .  Dallas has a huge nightlife .  If he cant behave in a crap hole like Cleveland .... no way he will be able to in DallAss . Plus we all know how Jerry is  :D

Yeah I mean I think he'd really struggle in Dallas with their lifestyle etc. That would not be a good move for his football career.

I wanted him until I saw that he wants Dallas or 49ers

Clearly not looking to his future because Eagles would be a great fit

Josh might have company on his trip out of cleveland as that kicker has to be released as well. That was a shocking miss.

And yet hes "following" Texans and Seahawks on Twitter. Dawk and Clement were cowboys fans too!

It doesnt matter.

I keep thinking about Chris Carter.  The Eagles cut Chris Carter because he had problems with drugs & alcohol.  He turned his life around and became a dominant force in the NFL with the Vikings and eventually became a hall of famer.  He credited Buddy Ryan for helping turn things around.  Getting cut was the smack in the face he needed.  Josh Gordon could be this kind of story.  We've got enough strong leadership on this team to provide a good environment for the kid.  I have faith.

I could regret saying this but... Let Dallas take him. That's a bad team with a bad set up and not a good track record with players who struggle with personal issues.

Let Dallas have him.  The EMB will be rife with screaming idiots, but they will all be eating crow by November.  Only a GM as idiotic as Jerruh could think his team is Josh Gordon away from winning the division.

Oh I do agree there. Signing Gordon is not going to take that team to the division title. That is a flawed team.

Looks like he is headed to the Patriots

Quote

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots are "getting close" to acquiring Josh Gordon.

Remain calm. Gordon to the Patriots would be a true dream outcome for those who took the Gordon plunge in the early/mid-rounds of their draft, but we should not lose sight of the fact that Gordon will be on extremely thin ice wherever he ends up. The Pats are known for giving players second chances. They also known for immediately moving on when those players do not live up to their expectations. Either way, it's hard not to be giddy at the thought of Gordon catching passes from Tom Brady.

Cris Carter didn't have anywhere near the issues Gordon has had. Gordon's issues date back to college, he was booted from his college team, arrested a few times. Gordon is a suspension away from a lifetime ban from the NFL. Gordon has been given loads of chances. When given them he screws up again and again and again. Gordon continues to get these opportunities and blows them. He lacks maturity, is selfish, doesn't care about anyone but himself. It goes beyond his drinking and drug issues. He shows up late to meetings and he injured his hamstring at a non-team approved photo shoot, showed up to practice not informing the team when it happened.

I read new england has an inside track to trading for gordon.

I can't think of a worse fit for a guy like gordan with a culture like the patriots.

Patriots are close to a deal....looks like we will be seeing stupid Aiken and stupid Carter a whole lot more....damnit.

Yes gordon is so risky...but hes the only guy out there that can make a difference.

I'm seeing 5th rd pick, if gordon doesn't play at least 10 games the Pat's get back a 7th.

I'd probably do that deal....

Its reported the eagles had no interest.

I wonder if anyone in the organization gave Joe Banner a call. Remember, he was fired for trading Trent Richardson and wanting to trade Josh Gordon.
