If not us

Recommended Posts

If we dont repeat Im rooting for the Chiefs this year. Watching them last night really makes me root for Andy. Would be great for him to finally get his the year after we did.

Not giving up or anything. Just saying if we happen to not make it go AR!

I've never understood the continuing love of this man.

Doug Pederson just gave us in 2 short years what Andy Reid couldn't do for us in 14 years! Yes, he attained a certain level of success. But the 'Big Games' continue to elude him even now. He's proven that he knows QBs. He's proven that his teams can win in the reg. season.

But he's also proven that his teams crash & burn in the playoffs. He's proven that his clock management, like his challenges, are still suspect to bad.

I'll be shocked if an Andy Reid coached team even makes it to the AFC Champ game, never mind winning a Super Bowl.

Addendum:

Just for the helluvit I pulled up Reid's stats with the Chiefs in the 5 years he's been there . . . note the similarity to his Eagles record 2000 - 2004:

Year          Record           Playoffs?

2013          11  - 5            L 45 - 44  Colts

2014             9 - 7            NO

2015           11 - 5            W  30 - 0  Titans   then  L  27 - 20  Pats

2016           12 - 4             L  18 - 16   Steelers

2017           10 - 6             L  22 - 21  Titans

There's a helluva lot more  Ls than Ws there.

He's only made it out of the 1st round once.

At least with us he won an NFC Champ game. (after losing the first three)

And then lost to Bill BeliCHEAT in the Super Bowl.

Again, why root for this guy?

I agree. I'm cheering for Andy. I know he came up small in big moments for us and was stubborn in his playcalling and poor in clock management but he is a decent human being. He is a players coach and I think he is a very talented play designer. I think hes a ring away from away from being a HOF when he is all done with coaching.

If he does win it all he will be among the most gracious sb winning coaches ever, I'm sure.

Sean McVay would probably be somewhat of an arse about it, just sayin'.

I've never understood the continuing love of this man.

I have never understood the abject hateful level of absolute zero gratitude that so many so-called fans have for AR.

This franchise was a national joke before he got here.

AR won 10 playoff games for this city in 14 seasons.

  • The Eagles had a total of 9 playoff wins in the 66 years before AR.
    • They only  had 5 playoff wins in the Super Bowl Era before him
    • Vermeil only won 3 playoff games in his 7 seasons.
    • Buddy won ZERO

The Eagles have won 12+ games 5 times in the 40 years since they went to 16 games.

  • AR gave us 3 of those seasons in a row.

This team was one massive choke job at QB away from multiple Super Bowls.

If that clown had played at least good not great vs Tampa, or New England, or St Louis, or Arizona then AR would be a 2 or 3 time SB Champion.

AR is known as a QB Guru and his influence runs deep on the 2017 Championship team.

Doug Pederson is not an NFL coach without AR

  • He was his QB coach in Green Bay
  • He was his head coach in Philly
  • AR made him a coach in Philly
  • AR promoted him in Philly
  • AR made him his Offensive Coordinator in KC

How about Nick Foles?

  • AR Drafted Foles and taught him as a rookie
  • AR helped convince Foles to play in 2016 and taught him for another full year

AR is a major factor in that Super Bowl victory.

I don't know who's being abjectly hateful.

I'm just talking about facts.

How much gratitude should we have for a HC elevating us from being "National Jokes" to LOSERS  in almost every big game in 14 years?

AR is a major factor in that Super Bowl victory.

Well then, so is Chip Kelly, by your reasoning.

So what???

Prior to AR, there WERE no big games for the Eagles in the SB era. Except for one year with Vermeil, they never made it past the divisional round of the playoffs. AR took this team's fans from celebrating an "unforgettable" regular season win at home against the Cowboys in 1995 (where they would eventually get blown out in the playoffs by them) to Super Bowl expectations. Have a little respect for the man.

That's obviously false since the Eags beat the 1980 Vikes in the divisional round and then the Cowpies in the NFC Champ game. They then went to the Super Bowl and lost. So there's three  BIG  games right there in 1980.

AR took this team's fans from celebrating an "unforgettable" regular season win at home against the Cowboys in 1995 (where they would eventually get blown out in the playoffs by them) to Super Bowl expectations.

You're obviously confused. Ray Rhodes was our HC in 1995. AR came along in 1999.

Have a little respect for the man.

I'll do as I see fit, thanks.

If not us... Hmm good question.

I can tell you teams I don't want to see win it.

Minnesota, Jacksonville, Chicago, LA Rams, Dullarse, NY Giants and the Redskins. Oh and add in the Steelers.

Think that's all...

See I don't like the Pats but I just have to respect what they've been able to do. I don't like the Ravens as they bore me but I don't dislike them. The Bucs are OK, apart from week two this year of course. Plus I've been to their stadium 3 times.

Why do Bills fans love Jim Kelly and Marv Levy?

To be honest I don't know... No rhyme or reason really. I don't like Trubisky and don't want him to win a SB though.

That’s cool. For some reason I can’t stand the Seahawks from before they were relevant.

I don't respect  ANYTHING  they've done . . .

B/C  it was all done under the spectre of  CHEATING.

Including our Super Bowl loss to them in Feb. 2005.
