Seahawks and Wilson agree to mega contract

Recommended Posts

Are Wilson and his wife looking to adopt? I know of a 42 year old, potty trained male who could use a good home.

And this is why the sooner we can do the Wentz deal the better.

I like Carson a lot but he is no Wilson... If we pay Carson anything close to this 35mil. I would have rather keep foles at 25mil and sign a key player at 10mil. Crazy.

Going to be tough to build a contender around that salary cap hit each season.

You would have been making a mistake.

So you think Carson is worth 35mil a year?

At some point, some team is going to choose to trade their franchise QB instead of giving most of the money to the QB position at the expense of the rest of the team.  It would be interesting to see a team invest in their defense (building a super defense) and offensive line and then trade the QB for multiple high draft picks when the QB is set to get a monster deal.

Won't be the Eagles.

Yep. This doesn't and shouldn't set the market for most quarterbacks because most have not won a SB as the starter including Wentz.

Overpaid.  Should have traded him.

Wrong. And even if they wanted to, who was gonna give up a mountain of picks and still have to pay him 35 million a year?

Got me. A lot of people on this board are saying that though so it was believable. Sarcasm sometimes does not translate online.

I don't think any player is worth 35 million, but if you're asking me if I think he's worth as much as Russell Wilson, yes. Carson has a higher ceiling.

I'll be interested to see how it's structured. According to OTC, they only had about $10.5 Million in space for this year. That included $25 Million for Wilson.

Wentz hasn't played as long but in 2017 Wentz was better than Wilson. Took Wilson 3 more games and until week 17 to have just 1 more TD than Wentz

Wilson: Two Super Bowl appearances back to back and one win.

Wentz: NOTHING!!!!!

Where on Earth are people coming up with the idea Wentz should even come close to these guys in extensions.
