Sack that QB

People sleeping on the Packers and Rodgers or is his run over?

That team wasted a lot of good years of Rodgers. Maybe he should have gone the Peyton route and gone to another team.

Rodgers current game is designed to get him a good passer rating (and maybe get his coach fired for bonus points). He takes very few chances into coverage which means less interceptions, but he also fails a lot on 3rd down. (incompletions or sacks)

Their points per drive in 2018 was 2.08 which was 15th.

  • Foles played with a MASH unit in weeks 1 and 2 and Wentz was inconsistent and the Eagles still finished 13th at 2.11
  • The Eagles were 2.31 in 2017 for comparison.
  • Eli and the Giants were at 2.02 in 2018

His team fails to score enough points but he looks good so he is fine. He is the anti-Brady.

Here is another way to show it by ranking him in several important 2018 QB categories:

  • Completion Percentage: 26th ((Eli was 17th)
  • Yards per pass (Y/A):  19th (Eli was 16th)
  • Sack Percentage 25th (Eli was 24th)
    • One of those guys has elite David Bakhtiari protecting his blindside. The other has 5 schmoes.
  • Interception Percentage: 1st
  • Passer rating 13th
  • QBR 20th
  • Adjusted Net Yards Per Pass Attempt (ANY/A) : 10th

Only being good at not throwing picks led him to a well deserved 6-9-1 record.

From 2011-2014 he was a 112 rated passer. That guy no longer exists.

From 2015-2018 he was a 98.2 rated passer. He's still a very good QB but he is not special any more.

To put this in proper perspective the league's average passer rating has gone up about 3.7 points between 2012 and 2016.
