The Double Doink Broke Matt Nagy

Recommended Posts

It seems silly for Nagy to keep harping on it. The ball was slightly deflected by Hester and bounced off of the upright and then the crossbar. In all likelihood you'll never see a play like that in the NFL ever again, so why waste that much time and energy on an outlier? If you want to focus on something from that game that could make a difference going forward, then come up with a way for Khalil Mack to not get embarrassed by a second-string rookie TE in the blocking game.

Or help Trubisky not have just an attrocious first half.  As bad as the Double Doink kick was, there were multiple areas where the Eagles flat out beat the Bears that day.

Do you think Mack calls his daddy on the weekends?  <Goedert>

Not that long ago, plays like the double doink would not be a surprising way to end to an Eagles season.   Things sure have changed around here.

It wasn't even completely Parkey's fault. Hester tipped it. Who was blocking him? Is Nagy obsessed with blocking on FG attempts too? The Bears stop in the middle of practice to kick 43-yard FGs. That's insane and obsessive. Kickers are a notoriously fickle bunch, and Nagy is going to screw them all up.

Just like Minnesota made a mistake by saying they were just a QB away before last year and then they lost their edge, the Bears will do the same thing by thinking they are just a kicker away.  The teams that move on from last year and just focus on moving forward tend to do better than teams that just dwell on the previous year.

It was partially blocked and that makes it even worse that Nagy can't move on.

If the Eagles get a playoff rematch against the Bears, they should go for a 43 yard field goal.   Even if it is 2nd down.

imagine...if Doug fixated on that. I mean come on. I think Nagy is feeling bad for the guy who has to come up after it but that will not win in this league. Sign Akers and call it a day/

The first kick that new kicker misses may be his last kick on the Bears.

Can you imagine the heat he's gonna take? Holy moly.

That bears Mascot is a pro. I know its not necessarily the look the Bears want, but that is a guy who is committed to the character. Like the time the Philly Phanatic got beamed by a foul ball and cartoonishly played up the incident so that kids didn't get upset he was hurt.

This Bears kicker story is truly incredible. I can't believe what's gone on there this off season. Maybe they'll never make a FG or XP again...

The Colts fans attacking Luck replaced the Bears human trash pile of drunken idiots destroying Parkey for a partial block as the worst fans in the NFL.

  • Actual death threats from Bears Fool-natics

I wish lots and lots of this bad kicking for that fan base over the next few seasons.

They have absolutely earned it.

The PTSD that the Bears coaching staff and fans are suffering from last year's blocked kick is most likely affecting these young kickers.  The fans booed him after he missed. Who would want to kick for them?  Maybe they need to just go for it on 4th down until they recover from their trauma.

"Double Doink", one of the only good things Collinsworthless has ever said during an Eagles game. Maybe during any game. Of course, Bears fans would likely disagree with that.
