Good job Seattle didn't then.

Pending on the contract he ends up with.

Even if they don't extend him... They didn't give up a huge amount to trade for him.

It's already better than the Tate trade, I'll give you that.

Not a huge amount but pretty bad trade for a guy who has 2 whole sacks at the midway point and could walk after the season. So far it’s a notch above the Tate trade last year.

It's against one of the best teams in the league.

Niners have been one of the best teams because of their defense not their offense

It doesn't matter, their record is what it is because they earned it. Clowney is showing up tonight, that is all.

A game no less.

True but, until he balls out the rest of the year this one game isn't worth a 3 and a 5 pick and 20 million a year.

I don't care what his contract is or draft compensation will be. He is playing well tonight.

‘Dominating the game.’

How often do we hear that about Bustnett ?

Not picking up Clooney was a mistake. Heck, even the much maligned Josh Gordon made game impacting plays tonight.

The FO/Howie sniffing homers just need to take a six month break from posting anymore.

This was the first game all season clowney played like he should be playing . Their pass rush has been non existent all season till tonight even Pete carroll said they have been waiting all year for this. If he keeps this up till the end of the season I'll eat crow but, until then him deciding to play great a couple times a season is still not worth 20 million a year.

Clooney’s performance last night just confirms he’s a selfish dog. This is a guy capable of that performance, yet has been dominated all season.

Barnett isn't the type of player where I really care about reducing his time.  He's not special or even close to it.

But no...Clowney isn't doing much.

I am never a fan of trading high picks for some flashy superstars.  Jalen Ramsey is basically a glorified Jalen Mills right now and Rams are without their two No.1 picks and cap space.

I would have traded a 3rd for Clowney.

I think his overall performance in a DE friendly Seattle scheme indicates that he may not have been worth it.  The argument to preserve playing time for Barnett as if he's some stud is very silly, but I don't think Clowney was intrinsically worth it in hindsight.

This team could of used DE help, but trading away picks for Clowney wasn't the answer. He's had exactly 1 good game the entire season for a hit of 16~ million. We have guys doing more, being paid less, that fans are already thinking they are stealing money. This fan base would be livid with him, let's not pretend otherwise.

And you just know he is the type of guy that is gonna turn it on down the stretch to get his big pay day. Then disappear after he gets it

You mean like last night? Think he ended with double digit pressures, a sack and a fumble recovery for a TD...

The first time doing anything all season really he totaled everything he did all season in one game. Speaks volumes of what kind of guy he is. Plays when he wants too.
