Kevin Stefanski new Browns HC

I hope Stefanski, a Philadelphia area native (his father Ed was the general manager for both the 76ers and Nets), does well, but for most of the last 20 years the Browns job has been the worst head coaching job in the NFL.

The Bengals say hi.

How has the Bengals job been the worst over the last twenty years? Before Zac Taylor took over last year, Marvin Lewis had been their coach for 16 seasons. Think about that... 16 years without a single playoff win and still kept his job until last season. Sounds like a sweet gig to me.

Kevin Stefanski agreed to certain specific terms that limit his authority

"As explained by Steve Doerschuk of the Canton Repository, new Browns coach Kevin Stefanski showed during his interview a willingness to yield to certain expectations of part-time chief strategy office Paul DePodesta, including having someone from the analytics group wearing a headset and having access to the coaching staff on game days. Stefanski also agreed to owner Jimmy Haslam’s desire to engage in hours-long meetings with his head coach the day after games.
Dustin Fox of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland added that the front office expects the head coach to "turn in game plans to the owner and analytics department by Friday, and to attend an end-of-week analytics meeting to discuss their plan.”"

Sounds like misery. How any rational person would take the job and accept those conditions is beyond me.

He's desperate for a HC job and his name has not come up anywhere else. But, if he's smart, he should find a way to get out of there in a couple of years. If he can turn that program around at least a little bit and then leave, then he will get offers.

Meh, he's probably going to end up with the NE job if he just hangs on for a bit.

That seems to be his plan.   It would be hilarious if Belichick would name Jason Garrett as his successor.

Oh God please. That would be a dream to see that franchise go through years of mediocrity.

I remember Ed Stefanski playing guard for Penn in the seventies.

Is that you, Sonny Hill?

Wally and his conspiracies.  Dude is certifiable.

Well it definitely can't be Nick Saban staying at Alabama because of that high salary and his legacy as one of the best college football coaches in history. He must be staying because his wife wants to be the big celebrity at parties.

Actually, yes.  Saban otherwise might very well have been back in the NFL by now.

lolwut

No wonder that organization is such a clogged toilet. Now they've got a baseball executive forcing edicts on the head coach who's, what, going to have to run his play calls through some analytics guy in a suit on game days?

Also haven't seen the name Dustin Fox in a while. I remember when he was an Eagle.
